after the penalties were
called. Assists went to Barry
Baynham and Hugh Mit-

At 12.19 Ian McTavish
scored what proved to be the
winning goal on a three-way
combination with Barry
Baynham and Bruce Red-
dick.
The Kings sent six for-
wards to the attack in the
dying moments, but, the
move backfired as Hugh
Mitchell, the Purina Flash
scored into an empty net to
give the Jets their long
awaited victory.
Each team had scored two
goals in the first period.
Ed Robb counted on a
breakaway at 36 seconds and
Rick Banks hit on, a three-
way effort with Hugh Mit-
chell and Ed Parkinson to
take care of the first period

Moody were the marksmen
for Grand• Bend with assists
going to Steve Schroeder,
Joe Falsetti, Pete Gill, Bob
Lovie, Dan Stanlake and.
Steve Kadlecik.
Doing the scoring honours
for Zurich were Richard
Schilbe, Pat Bedard and
Randy McKinnon on plays
started by Mike Clarke,
Gerald Weido, Ron
Desjardine, Richard Schilbe,
Pete Postill and Glen Zerk.
Richard Schilbe scored
two goals for Zurich in the
second period to complete a
hat trick performance.
Captain Steve Bedour added
the other mid-game goal
while Mike Clarke chalked
up two assists. Getting
singles were Randy
McKinnon and Allan Wilbee.
In the third period, Mike
Desjardine, Pete Gil, Steve
Kadlecik and Pete Gill hit
the mark for the Mariners
while Jim Murray counted
two goals for Zurich and
singles went to Steve Bedour
and Gerald Weido.
Thursday's contest was
close from start to finish
with each team scoring one
goal in the first period and
two in the second.
The game scoring opened
at 4.57 of the first period
when Joe Falsetti hit the
mark for the Mariners on a
pass from Pete Gill.
Less than three minutes
later the Mohawks tied the
score as Brian Taylor
converted a pass from Scott
Burton.
Brad Taylor scored at 6.11
of the second period to put
the Exeter club into the lead
for the first time. Scott
Burton again assisted.
At 9.16, Pete Gill scored for
the Mariners with the assist
going to Dan Stanlake and
the score was again even.
A minute and a half later,
Tom Ryan fired the puck into
the Grand Bend net on a play
started by Ron Moore.
With three minutes left in
the middle session, Grand
Bend tied the score on a
successful shot by Mike
Desjardine. Steve Kadlecik
assisted.
Two quick Grand Bend
goals near the midway mark
of the third period decided
the outcome. Joe Falsetti
scored with passing' help
from Pete Gill and Gil
counted on a pass from
captain Rick Moody.
The Lucan-Ilderton Jets
came up with an impressive
victory Thursday night in
London by a 5-3 score over
the London Kings in OHA
Contiental senior league
action.
The victory was very
important as it broke a 21
game losing streak.
In other games this week
the Jets dropped two
decisions to the Durham
Huskies, 8-5 Tuesday in
Ilderton and 5-3 Sunday in
Durham.
In their only action up-.
coming this week, the Jets
will play host to the Preston
Jesters at the Bderton arena,
Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Power plays help
Seven minutes of penalties
to Gord Uyl of London in the
third period allowed the Jets

goals and gain Thursday's
win over the Kings.

from feaStio famine in three
Shamrock loop tilts this
week.
On Wednesday, they
clobbered Oakridge 7-0 in a
four point contest at the rec
centre. llov,re'ver, their
sticks went cold in the next
two outings as they were
held scoreless by Lambeth
and. St. Marys.
Bryan Quinn paced the at-
tack against Oakridge with
two gaols and an assist.
Picking up single tallies
were Ron Loucks, Jeff
Dalrymple, Robbie
McKnight, Lee Watt and
Danny McLean.
Assisting on the markers
were Paul Mellecke, Scott
Boyd, Loucks, Steve
Lingard, Robbie McLean,
Danny McLeah, Dalrymple

Midgets win
Despite having only nine
skaters, the Exeter midgets
had enough steam to beat
Port Stanley 5-1 at the rec
centre, Wednesday, actually
getting stronger as the game
went on as they scored three
times in the third period:

markers, while adding
singles were Pete Tuckey,
Ed Willis and Mike Clarke,
Mike 'Murray picked up
assists on three of the goals,
while helping out on one
were Tuckey and Jamie

broken leg picked up in a
football game.

scored a 5-2 win over Exeter
in the Stonetown, Wednes-
day, evening the season
record between the clubs at
a loss, win and tie each.
The home team jumped
into a 2-0 lead and after Ex-
eter whittled it to 2-1, they
scored three in a row to win
going away.

with two goal effort,
scoring in single fashion
were Bill Burlington, Dean-
Nieman and Larry,`Wilson.
Wednesday's contest
which ended in an 8-5 win for
Durham was a typical battle
between the two clubs. A
total of 29 minor penalties
were called with 15 going to
the Jets. In addition Hugh
Mitchell of L-I and Ken
Nelson of the Huskies were
sent off for five minutes each
for fighting.
Dave Revington led the
Jets scoring attack with a
two goal performance.
Scoring one goal apiece were
Barry Baynham Hugh
Mitchell and Ed Robb.
Larry Wilson's hat trick
was best for Durham. Bill
Burlington was next with two
goals while singles went to
Andy Grant, Don McLeod
and Paul Lawrence.
