The Assessment Act
NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS
AND TENANTS
Pursuant to section 46 of The Assessment Act, I hereby ex-
tend to the 15th day of February, 1980, the day upon which
the assessment roll for the year 1979 is required to be
returned in all municipalities in the County of Huron except
the Town of Wingham, the Village of Zurich and the
Townships of East Wawa-nosh, McKillop,'Stanley, Stephen,
Tuckersmith and West Wawanosh, where the day upon
which the assessment roll is required to be returned is ex-
tended to the 22nd day of January, 1980.
And further take notice that the time for lodging a com-
plaint with the Assessment Review Court in respect of any
assessment contained in the assessment rolls that are re-
quired to be returned on the 15th day of February, 1980, is
extended to the 7th day of March, 1980, and in respect of
any assessment in the assessment rolls that are required to
be returned on the 22nd day of January, 1980, is extended
to the 12th day of February, 1980.

Exeter councile agreed this
week to have a review of
their insurance undertaken
by a Toronto insurance
broker who is working
through the Rural Ontario
Municipal Association.
It is expected the review
will take place in May or
June.
'Council received a letter
froni their present insurance
firm, Frank Cowan- Com-
pany' Limited, questioning
several aspects of the`bid by
the Toronto broker to un-
derwrite municipal in-
surance.
It pointed out thatcouncils
should consider- the ex-
perience, financial stability
and service to be provided.
"We doubt if any council
would commit the protection
of the municipality's assets
to a small Toronto broker
who does not disclose his
Market and coverage," the
letter commented.
The Princetown firm also
indicated they had done
some cost comparisons, and
had found on the average
their costs were at least as
low as that outlined by the
Toronto broker and in many :-
