The Marauders came
roaring back with three un-
answered goals in the first
half of the second period.
Pete Glover cashed in a
pass from Mark Cronyn at
1:16 to tie the score and
Blair Hearn counted on pass
from Pete Glover at 9:28
with Jack Chipchase of Ex-
eter sitting out a ,roughing
penalty. -
Only 18 seconds later cap-
tain Ron Funston put the
Marauders in front 3-1 with
the assist going to Randy
Somerville.
Each team scored a goal in
the final four minutes of the
middle frame. Randy
Gilfillan chalked up the Ex-
eter score on a pass from
Brion Penhale and Blair
Hearn replied for Centralia
on a three-way passing com-
bination with Cec Nickles
and Dennis Carty.
Each team counted a pair
of goals in the final 20
minutes of play to allow the
Marauders to win 6-4.
The Centralia club scored
first in the last period. Ran-
dy Somerville scored on an
unassisted effort at 3:08 and
Randy Somerville counted
from Ron Funston at 11:29 to

The Exeter midgets pick-
ed up five of a possible six
points in three , Shamrock
tilts this week to move
closer to the top of the "A"
division standings.
They started the week off
with a 5-2 win in Ilderton and
came home Wednesday to
thump the loop leading

1 lead at the end of the first
period. the locals rattled in
four unanswered goals to
win going away.
Dave Shaw paced the at-
tack with a hat trick, while
Mike Clark and Bill Glover
added the singles. The latter
also had a pair of assists,
while helping out on one
each were Tom Coates and
Dave Underwood.
Exeter led 8-1 in
Wednesday's game before
giving up a pair of tallies
late in the tilt.
Mike Clark. just back
from a football injury,
scored a pair of goals as did
Dave Shaw and Dave
Jackson. Adding singles
were Rick Lindenfield and
Tom Coates. Bill Glover
drew three assists to lead in
that department and Dave
Underwood had a pair.
Dorchester scored with 28
seconds left in Sunday's
game to post the tie after
Exeter had come from
behind to take a 5-4 lead.
Ed Willis had a pair of
markers for the locals with
the single tallies coming
from the sticks of Dave
Underwood. Bill Glover and
Dave Shaw.
Dave Jackson picked up
three assists with singles go-
ing to Mike Murray, Dave
Shaw, Dave Underwood,
Mike Clark and Ed Willis.
Pee wees split
The local pee wees
rebounded from a 7-1 loss at
the hands of Strathroy on
Monday to post a thrilling 3-2
win against London Minor
the following night.
Terry Zachar scored the
lone goal against Strathroy
with Ted Lawson drawing
the assist. That marker
opened the scoring and
Strathroy knotted the count
to open the second and then
took complete control of the
contest.
Tuesday night's game
provided a story-book finish
to a free-wheeling contest
that was in doubt until the
final whistle.
London opened the scoring
in the second, only to have

tam tilts this week, losing 6-
2 in Strathroy on Monday
and then posting a decisive
6-0 win against London
Minor the following night.
The locals hung with the
powerful Strathroy team
throughout most of the con-
test. which was one of the
final warm-ups before
Strathroy heads for a tour of
West Germany over the
Christmas holidays.
Ted Oke scored both Ex-
eter goals and Steve Batten
picked up assists on each of
them. Linemate John Ker-
nick helped out on one.
Peter Dearing kicked out
everything shot his way in
that Tuesday night tilt,
which was on the chippy side
as the city boys resorted to
rough stuff after they saw
they couldn't beat their
country cousins.

until there was less than two
minutes on the clock and
Sean Whiteford put a nifty
move on the London goalie
to put Exeter up by a 2-1
count. Trevor Johnston and
Jeff Pfaff drew the assists.
However. London picked
up the ensuing faceoff and
evened the count six seconds
later only to have Exeter
take the win when Steve
Gould pushed the puck into
the net with 50 seconds left
on a play with Johnston and
Pratt.
Atoms nipped
Strathroy atoms scored
with just over five minutes
left in a Sunday afternoon
Shamrock tilt on their own
ice to nip Exeter 3-2.
Exeter opened the scoring
and then tied the count after
the home team potted a pair.
Ronnie Loucks scored both
Exeter goals with the assists
going to Steve Lingard, Paul
Mellecke and Dave Russell. against London.

A four goal onslaught in
the second period carried
the Centralia Marauders to a
6-4 win over the Exeter
Mohawks in South Huron
hockey league play at the
Stephen arena Thursday
night.
In regular action Thursday
night of this week, the
Marauders will play host to
Kettle Point, the Mohawks
will be at home to the
Parkhill Merchants and
Goderich will be in Hensall.
The Mohawks scored the
only goal of the first period

With only two minutes
left, Brad Taylor fired the
final Exeter score with the
assist going to Scott Burton.
The Mohawks took seven of
the 11 minor penalties hand-
ed but.
