Kitchener Rangers. In his second game with the Rangers Saturday former teammate

the Sassenachs maintained
their one point lead at the top
of the standings.
The leaders have 38 points,
one more than the runnerup
Winkers. The Outlaws are
third with 35 points, the
Family Affair has 33 and the
Doublers and Scotties are
deadlocked at 32 points.
The Itchy Niters, Out of
Space and Rowdy Ones are
in a three-way tie with 29
points, the Chances have 28,
DR's 27, Shiphunters and
Nicky Tams 26, CB'ers 22
and Canscotts 21.
In the high score depart-
ment, Ellen Knight with a
180 is best for the ladies
while the best male score of
174 has been recorded by
Brian Chappell.

One of this area's few
natives to play tier one
junior A hockey has been
traded.
Paul Pooley of Exeter who
played for the Kingston
Canadians during the 1978.79
season was traded Wed-
nesday along with Dave
Clement, for tWo players to
the Kitchener Rangers.
Following the Rangers'
loss to the Canadians in
Kitchener Saturday night,
Pooley said the trade came
as a complete surprise to
him. "I didn't expect they

A rink skipped by Art
Clarke won the first draw of
the first men's open bonspiel
of the season Saturday at the
Exeter curling club.
Completing the roster of
the winning Clarke rink were
Jim Chapman, Brian Clarke

Placing next, in the first
draw were rinks skipped by
Brian Falconer, Vanastra;
Carl Kennedy, Sarnia and
Bill Monro, Sarnia.

The Exeter midgets split
in their two Shamrock
outings this week, losing 2-1
to Strathroy and then posting
a 10-4 verdict over Dor-
chester.
Strathroy jumped into a 2-0
first period lead on their
home ice, Tuesday, and then
hung on as the locals stor-
med to the attack to get the
equalizer in the third.
Pete Tuckey scored the
lone Exeter goal on a play
with Dave Underwood early
in the final stanza.
Rick Lindenfield and Pete
Tuckey fired three goals
each to pace the attack
against Dorchester. Dave
Underwood, Jeff Rowe,
Wayne Smith and Bill
Renning added the singles.
Dave Jackson assisted on
four tallies, while Lin-
denfield and Jim Lovie
