Toronto by rail on Thursday
and enjoyed the day at the
Royal Winter Fair.

of the yeardue to other com-
mitments, so hopefully
someone will take over and
keep our community on the

Lavender, P.Eng., to the posi-
tion of vice president in their
head office in Edmonton,
Alberta.
Previously a project manager
for a major Tar Sands com-
pany, and with nearly twelve
years of project engineering
experience, Mr. Lavender will
coordinate engineering acti-
vities and direct project
development of new mining
properties. He is a member of
the American Institute of
Chemical Engineers and the
Association of Professional
Engineers of Alberta.
Echo Bay Mines is a producer
of silver at Port Radium and is
currently developing a gold
deposit at Contwoyto Lake.
Both properties are in the
Northwest Territories.

The November meeting of
the Clandeboye Womens
Institute was held in the
United Church basement.
Convener of Education and
Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Roy
Cunningham, invited her
neighbours, Arlene and
David Noonan to show slides
and tell of their four month
stay in Bolivia, South
America where David was
doing a feasibility study on a
new road to be built there.
The slides were excellent
and their commentary most
interesting. The roll call a
headline from a news clip-
ping of a foreign Country and
was answered by nineteen
members. There were
thirteen visitors.
During the business it was
decided to eliminate the
Christmas gift exchange at
the December meeting but
members are asked to bring
a donation for the Cancer
cupboard at Thameswood
Lodge, Victoria Hospital.
Mrs. Art Hodgins, Mrs.
Alan Hill and Mrs, Cal
Carmichael will represent
North Middlesex Women's
Institutes on the board of the
1982 International Plowing
Match to be held near Lucan.
Lunch committee Mrs.
Bruce Henry, Mrs. Jack
Hodgson, Mrs. Rea Neil and
Mrs, R.Worthington served a
delicious lunch and a social
time was enjoyed by all.

weeks with relatives in
Georgia.

The Fellowship group met
at Elimville church Sunday
evening. Jack Stewart
opened the worship service
with the theme If We Only
Had Love.After hymns sung
by Mrs. Howard Pym.
Howard Pym read the
Scripture. Jack Stewart read
a poem "If We only have love
and also a reading".
Mrs. Jack Stewart led in
prayer. Pastor Ross
Hargreaves then took
charge. He spoke about the
People of God in the
Household of Faith.
There was a drawing
representing four rooms
each with a door.The first
room was entitled

Doctrine, Second-Christian
Nurture, Third-Christian
Experience; Fourth-Chri-
stian Service. At the close of
the topic there was a Special
Celebration.
Lunch was served by the

Mrs. Howard Pym and Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Stewart which
Mrs. Ralph Lynn is a
patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital where she un-
derwent surgery last week.

Congratulations to Susan
Zielman, daughter of Dick
and Annie Zielman, who last
Friday evening was crowned
as Huron County Dairy
Princess, at the annual
Dairy Princess Ball, held at
the White Carnation in.
Holmesville.
Susan was one of five girls
in Huron County competing
for the title. Besides her
crown and a dozen red roses,
other gifts included two
travelling !bags from the
milk marketing board, a
silver tray from the Surge
milk dealers, silver cream
and sugar set from United
Holstein club, silver rose
bowl from the Royal Bank,
electric clock from Agrico
Fertilizer, pen and pencil set
from Bank of Commerce and
a sum of money.
Susan will act asgoodwill
ambassador for the milk
producers of the county with
visits to service clubs,
women's groups, schools and
various community func-
tions.

Ferman and Leota Snyder
were dinner guests, Sunday,
at Listowel with Mr, and
Mrs. Edmund Martin. Later
they travelled to St. Mary's
hospital in Kitchener, to visit
their daughter, Mrs. Otto
Plein, and their new gran-
daughter Melissa Jean, who
was born last Thursday
November 15. Christopher
Plein returned home with his
grandparents for some
holidays.
Earl and Greta Russell, of
Essex spent the week end
with his brother Cliff and
Velma Russell.
Mrs. Bonnie Erickson is a
patient in St. Joseph's
hospital, London,
Esther Snyder of London
spent the week end with her
parents and brothers here.
