Huronview
Caravan
Among our usual activities
this week, we had a visit
from Clothes Caravan.
Residents had the op-
portunity of going to the
auditorium where a good
selection of clothing was
displayed to make their
purchases. Staff members
were on hand to help with the
fittings. In the afternoon we
held a "mini" fashion show,
and modeling was done by
residents wearing the
various items selected
previously.
Grades one and two from
Clinton Public School shared
their Halloween party with
us. The children arrived
after lunch dressed up in
costumes which were judged
by two clients from Day Care
and Mr. Les Fortune and Mr.
Frank Bissett who are
residents at Huronview.
The judges stated that the
job of judging was difficult
as all the costumes worn by
the children were excellent.
The children entertained the
residents with a little
programme with the
halloween theme in mind,
The afternoon programme
was recorded on the video
machine and shown to the
students after. I think they
enjoyed seeing themselves
on T.V.
We would like to thank
Mrs. Marie Flynn and Hugh
Hodgins for the music played
during the afternoon. A draw
was made on the ceramic
pumpkin and was won by
Mrs. Cindy Fleet.
During coffee break in Day
Care on Thursday morning
there was a demonstration of
Creative needlework.
Residents and clients en-
joyed a cup of coffee and a
chance to browse.
Mrs. Prouty held Bible
study in the chapel and in
forms us she will have a
guest speaker next week.
Huronview would like to
welcome Mr. Atkey Rich-
mond Secord from Clinton,
and Wallace Earl Beckett,
from Wingham.
Speedy recovery to Polly
Wiltse, Edith Lovett, Jean
Sheppard, Sadie Carter,
Leah Robertson who are in
hospital. We would like to
extend to Mary Ann Regier
and family our sympathy
with the loss of husband and
father.
Briefs from
County Council
Huron County council
approved a recommendation
of the road committee to
increase the land purchase
price for road widenings
from $500 an acre to $2,400 an
acre plus $12 a rod for fence
allowance. If a new fence is
to be constructed by county
staff at a price of $12 per rod,
,it will be deducted from the
land purchase price.
Council members were
told by county engineer Bill
Dempsey that the first
metric construction project
will be undertaken on County
Road 11 in Usborne township
next spring. He said land
purchases after that time
will be made on hectare
rather than acre
measurements, and the
conversion will mean a slight
increase in the value of the
land.
Council approved the
purchase of a diesel motor
grader, complete with snow
plow equipment, from
Champion Road Machinery
Sales Ltd., Goderich for a
tender price of $19,715.
(Denton) and nephew, Don
Williams wife and family.

Hospital, London, where she
underwent surgery.
