The Toronto based club attracts speakers from all walks of life. With MacNaughton (se- cond from right) at a luncheon earlier this month are Ellen Fairclough, a minister in the Deifenbaker cabinet, former governor-general of Canada Roland Michener, Flora MacDonald, secretary of state for external affairs in the Clark govern- ment and Tom Wells, Ontario minister of Intergovernmental affairs. John MacNaughton heads club A former Exeter resident has been named president of the Empire Club of Canada. John A. MacNaughton of Toronto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles MacNaughton was appointed president of the club which is one of Canada's oldest and most prominent speaker's forums, this past spring.
