GRANTON
The sixth meeting of
Group 1 Granton 4-H club,
"Accessories the final
touch" was held at the home
of leader Mrs. Dennis St.
Denis.
Ideas were expressed for
the cover of the project
manual and Rosanne St.
Denis showed the members
a picture which she thought•
would be a good idea for the
book covers and all the girls
agreed.
After the reading about the
different ways of making'
gloves from the manual, the
leaders explained the
meaning of Achievement
Day, and had the girls
practice walking for the
fashion show. Following a
discussion on what to do for
an exhibit, and working on
some designs, the meeting
closed with the 4-H motto.
Debbie Lascelles was the
secretary and press reporter
for this meeting.
The seventh and final
meeting of Group 1 "The
Super Sewers" of the
Granton 4-H club was held on
October 25 at the home of
leader Mrs. St, Denis
Members worked on a
crossword puzzle on ac-
cessories and a game on
matching accessories, then
there was an accessory quiz.
Leaders Mrs. St. Denis
and Mrs, Harmworth, did an
accessory evaluation with
the members, and then the
meeting closed with the 4-H
motto, It was decided to have
a special meeting to finish
the book covers on Friday,
October 26 at the home of
Teresa McCarthy at 7:30
p.m. Teresa was also
secretary and press reporter
for this meeting.

At the St. Thomas
Anglican Church, Rev. Mary
Mills was in charge of the
worship, and preached her
sermon from the Gospelof St.
Luke Chapter 6. This
referred to Jesus and His
Ministry on Earth, and His
instructions to His twelve
disciples,
At the United Church Rev.
Elwood Morden was in
charge of the morning
worship, and officiated at the
service of baptism.
Children receiving the
Sacrament were, Wayne
Stephen, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Nelson Bilyea Kelly
Margaret Anne, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Waters;
and Matthew Cleveland, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hill.
Rev. Morden entitled his
sermon, "The man of
Generosity" this referred to
Barnabas; who when he had
sold his land, brought the
money and laid it at the
Apostle feet. Barnabas, said
Rev. Morden was Generous
of hand, and heart, and
mind, and therefore a "Man
of Generosity."
