The Zion United Church
Women met Thursday
evening in the Sunday School
rooms. Velma Russell gave
the call to worship and
welcomed. Rev. Stairs and
guest from, Centralia, Dash-
wood and Zurich.
Doris Swartz and Doug
Gill sang a lovely duet.
Velma Russell then gave a
scripture reading. Mrs. Ed
Hendrick gave a
Thanksgiving Prayer and
Mrs. Ward Fritz gave a
Thanksgiving reading.
Self composed songs were
sung by Harry Schroeder,
accompanied by Doug Gill
on piano.
Mrs. Russell thanked
everyone who participated,
and closed with prayer.
Rev. Stairs, showed plc-
turers of Bhutan, and told
about his work there with the
leprosy mission, which is
over one hundred years old
and 300,000 lepers under
their care. Rev. Stairs closed
with the song of "Take the
name of Jesus with you."
Randy Smith and friend
are spending holidays at his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Alf
Smith.
The family of Alf and Note
Smith wish them a happy
40th Anniversary. Everyone
is invited to an open dance,
in their honour, in Exeter
October 13.

The Ladies Guild of St.
Mary's Anglican Church,
Brinsley held their October
meeting in the church
basement Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Jim Scott and Mrs. Jim
Rowe were in charge of the
program and roll call was i
answered with a Bible verse
containing the food we eat.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Small of Tiverton, N.S. spent
several days with Mr. and ,
Mrs. Charles Corbett.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Walper and family of
Greenway were supper-
guests Sunday evening with
Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Trevithick and Ruth who
was home over
Thanksgiving week-end.
Several families from the
area attended the 40th
wedding anniversary for Mr.
and Mrs. Levi White held at
their home Sunday.
Thanksgiving and com-
munion service was held in .-

Sunday with Mr. Peter Snell ,‘,
in charge of the service , .,
assisted by Rev. Harold '4
Snell of Exeter. The church
was decorated for the oc-
casion. Kathy Maynard,
Tracey Hemming ac-
companied by Cindy Prest
on the guitar sang "Let it
be."
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morley
were supper guests Sunday
evening with Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Hodgins and family.
