congregation was on hand to
take part in the worship.
Peter Snell conducted the
service, with the music being
provided by the Centralia
quartet along with the junior
choir under the leadership of
Mrs. Jack Trevithick. Doug
Lewis played the organ
The guest speaker was
Rev, Walter Poulton of
Riverside United Church in
London. He brought an in-
spiring message to the
congregation and affirmed
that "We are a people chosen
of God, and as such, we
must show to others our
Christian nature by our
lives."

The Huron-Perth
Presbytery was in charge of
the introduction service for
Miss Barbara Laing student
supply minister for the
Dashwood-Zurich Pastoral
charge at Calvary United
church Sunday evening,
September 30.
The service was conducted
by Rev. Wilema Brown,
Varna, and the sermon by
Rev. James Forsythe,
Exeter. Rev. Maurice
Francis, Fullarton, chair-
man of the board, introduced
Miss Laing.
A time of fellowship and
lunch followed in the
basement. In Miss Laing's
own words she stated "I was
warmly welcomed."
4-H meet
Dashwood 4-H club 2 of the
4-H girls held the second
meeting of their fall project
"Needlepoint" Thursday
September 27 with all 11
members present. They
began working on the sample
item or free choice.
The ladies showed the girls
how to thread a needle and
how to do the Gobelin and
continental stitch, A
monogram' was selected, put
on graph paper and put on
the canvas.

and area folks who enjoyed
the 6 day fall color tour last
week.
Ed Turnbull, Hugh and
Annie Morenz, spent
holidays last week on
Manitoulin Island, visiting
relatives and friend's of Ed's
in the Gore Bay area and
Mindemoya, Side trip stops
were made at West Bay,
Indian Point bridge,
Evansville, Kagawong
harbour, Spring Bay and
Providence Bay.
The fall leaf coloring on
the island was georgous.
Congratulations to Ken
and Ortha Baker on the
arrival of their seventh
grandchild, when a baby girl
Jillian Nancy, was born to
Sandra and Tony Regier of
Detroit.
Chris and Heather Regier
spent last week with their
grandparents here,
