Plans were discussed about a Christmas Party to be held December 11 and a Christmas bazaar, November 27. Elsie Tuckey reported that the Rec Centre has been booked for the annual spring dance. Programme chairperson Elaine Bogart introduced the programme for the coming year. The topic would be "Roots", explaining that you chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority are, trea- Donna Jones, president Bev De!bridge and I-A photo could build your programme around your own roots or that of someone else who is of interest to you. It was announced that six members would attend a Mini convention to be held in London, September 29. This Sunday, the Van Egmond Foundation is throwing a huge party on the grounds of the historic Van Egmond House in Egmond- ville. The 5th annual ciderfest is bigger and better this year and features the sale of both hot and cold cider made on the spot from fresh apples. Cider-making will be accompanied by demon- strations of sausage-stuffing, spinning, weaving, pioneer blacksmithing and other crafts, as well as a large outdoor flea market. This year the Ciderfest boasts a flower festival of beautiful blooms from local gardens and a gallery of paintings presented by the Central Ontario Artists' Association. A special preview of the Art and Flower Shows is scheduled for Saturday, September 29 from 1 p.m. until 5.
