The Saturday afternoon parade will be headed by three bands. They are the Seaforth District High School girls band, the Seaforth-Dashwood Corn- Roy Pepper munity band and a band from the Shriner. The parade will leave Frayne's parking lot at 12.30 p.m. and head for the fair grounds, Judging of school fair outdoor exhibits will get underway at 10.15 a.m. This will be followed by judging of 4-H calves, 4-H horse club and feeder claves. The auction sale of the 13 feeder club calves will get underway at 3 p.m. Throughout the afternoon other judging including horses, sheep and poultry will take place. All Friday night Fair patrons will be eligible for valuable door prizes. Jeweller Earl Campbell is providing a prize of $50 and two of $25 each to be drawn during the evening. We are celebrating 125 years of fair work and have used this as our theme. The ladies are anxiously awaiting numerous entries and exhibits this year since the prize lists were printed in February with a substantial increase in prize money. Do you have an antique container? If yes, then arrange a creation and enter Elimville WI hear about hydro use By KATHY COOPER ELI 1VIVILLE The Elimville Women's Institute held their first meeting of the fall at Elimville hall Wednesday evening, President Mrs. Murray Coward opened the meeting with the Opening Ode and Mary Stewart collect. The roll call was answered by a way to conserve electricity. Mrs. Floyd Cooper in- troduced the guest speaker Ron Walker who is with Ontario Hydro. He presented slides entitled "Be a waste watcher and save". This proved to be very in- formative to everyone. Mrs. Ross Skinner thanked him. The Institute is invited to "Fun Night" at Dashwood October 2nd. A workshop will be held October 24 and 25 at Exeter entitled "Indoor Gardening." The Institute Rally for Huron will be held at Elimville United Church on October 1 with Elimville Women's Institute as host. The London Area Convention will be held in St. Marys this fall on November 1 and 2. - Mrs. Wm, Routly gave a hospital report. The dates of the rummage sale being October 17 and 18. Lunch was served a social time enjoyed. The lady winning most points will also receive a crownfor the year The art of quilting will be exhibited with many entries and the best quilt of the fair may compete in Canada Packers Competition at the District meeting and if chosen, it would be entered at the Canada Packers By AGNES AUNGER This coming Friday is the beginning of the 125th Exeter Fall Fair. Along with it is the elementary school section with a wide variety of classes that cover many interesting and fun things for the children to do. Details of the classes and rules were outlined on the pamphlets distributed to the schools in early June to be given to each pupil. Saturday morning is the day to bring out your pets, horses, cows or birds to be judged at 10 a.m. Then you still have time to come out with your decorated bike or to dress up in something special for the parade. The children's work will be on display until 4.30 p.m, Saturday the 22nd the S.H,R.C. At this time the demonstration. The annual Exeter Fall Fair dance will be held in the auditorium of the Rec Centre Competition at the Agricultural Society Con- vention in February. There is terrific prize money. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Wouldn't you like to enter in the baking section and compete for the Baking Queen. New sections are also offered in the domestic class including a cake for the 125th Anniversary of Exeter Agricultural Society. Yes, don't forget, there is a class for the Best Men's Chocolate cake. There are special classes for our Junior Homemakers and the Baking Princess and Sewing Princess will be crowned Friday night. The 4- Homemaking displays add a great deal to our fair. It was a picture of one of these that won Exeter 1st prize in the photographic com- petition for C fairs and also the winner between A and B Fairs. Maisie Boyd and her co- workers from London will be demonstrating and teaching the crafts of caning, apple dolls, etc. You'll want to see the Huron South Women's Institute display and the new Organization Display for the 125th year Fair. It takes many hands and time to prepare a fair, Along with this, the ladies have made a handmade quilt and pillow shams, a crib quilt and cushion have been donated for a draw to be drawn Saturday September 22 at the Fair dance. Get your tickets from any director or at the fair. Goodness, this is only the ladies part of the Fair. There is lots to see and hear.
