Seniors re-open fall season The "Three Links" Senior Citizens will re-open the fall season with a "Pot Luck" supper on Tuesday Sep- tember 11th in the local hall. The ladies' high bowling score was Mary Parlmer with 72 Men's High Score was Neil Regan with 109, Democratic Party (NDP), Stephen Lewis, will address the 11th Convocation of Conestoga College on Saturday, September 29. Area residents will be among the 2,252 students who are eligible to take part in the ceremony which begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Lewis who became provincial leader of the NDP in 1970, will be honoured by the College for his significant contribution to the quality of Canadian life as a humanitarian, author, politican, and journalist. He resigned as leader in February, 1978 and resigned from politics in November, 1978. Mr. Lewis is currently broadcasting on CKey Radio and City TV, writing a column for the Sunday Star and is a part-time lecturer at the University of Toronto in the Occupational Health Department. The following area residents will graduate from Conestoga College, this year. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Busche and daughters of Dorchester spent the week-end holiday with Mrs, Busche's parents Mr. and Mrs. Bert Horton. Mr. and Mrs. Don MacLaren, Jodi and Brooke of Oakville visited on Sunday with Mrs, Bertha MacGregor. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Scruton of Port Dover visited recently with Mr. Peter McNaughton and also visited Mrs. McNaughton who is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chaffe and Sally of Mitchell visited recently with Mrs. Chaffe's parents Mr. and Mrs, Jack Corbett. Mr. and Mrs, Ken Harrison returned to their home in Lachine, Quebec after visiting the latter's mother Mrs. Vera Smale, Rev. Donald MacDonald of Duart a former minister of Carmel Presbyterian Church visited over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Schwalm, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gibson and Bruce of Sudbury visited with Mrs. Gibson's uncle, Peter McNaughton, last week, Mrs. Margaret Barnard had the misfortune to fall on the street last week and is receiving treatment in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Her many friends and neigh- bours wish her a speedy recovery. Mrs, Rose Collins who has been a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter was transferred to St, Joseph's Hospital, London on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Konynendyk of Woodstock, and Mr. and Mrs, John Broomfield, Heather and David of Dorchester were guests on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Sim Roobal. Robert Taylor of Kit- chener spent the week-end with his parents Mr, and Mrs, Jim Taylor. Mrs, Fred Johnston of Moosonee and Miss Dale Gooding visited recently with their grandmother Mrs. Edgar Munn, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gibson and son Bruce of Sudbury visited last week with Mrs. Gibson's aunt Mrs. Ruby Bell, Mrs. Peter McNaughton who has been a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London underwent surgery last week. Her many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Tim Mock of Victoria B.C. is holidaying with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mock. Sgt. Doug Wein, R.C.M.P. Mrs. Wein and David returned to their home in Ottawa after holidaying with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wein. and Ladies Aid will com- mence their fall meetings in the church Monday Sep- tember 10th at 1.00 p.m. The flowers in the Church were placed by the family of the late Miss Isobel Brintnell in loving memory. Personals Al Corbett who recently underwent surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital, London was able to return to his home, Enjoy mass and bingo Father Hardy held Roman Catholic Mass, Friday morning. Friday afternoon, the residents played bingo in the auditorium. Wednesday afternoon, 24 residents went to Grand Bend to the Htiron Country Playhouse, The production "The Sound of Music" was enjoyed by all, Plans are well under way for our fashion show next Wed- nesday afternoon.
