CATCHING UP— Gregory McCarthy, RR 8 Parkhill, didn't
attend the Friedsburg Days event in Dashwood five years
ago. That was the day he was born. However, billing himself
as a "Friedsburg Baby" Gregory was much in evidence this
year as he joined the parade participants. Staff photo

SOME STRONG ARM TYPES — The arm wrestling event was again one of the more popular at Friedsburg Days and
these 10 people are masters of the sport. The champions in the five categories are shown in the front row, from the left:
Mona Hodgins, Perry Sereda, Ron Coolman, Larry Skinner and Bob Snarey. The runners-up are standing directly behind
their respective victors, and are: Mary Orr, Joe Ford, Frank Mousseau, John Coolman and Paul Gross, Staff photo

DASHWOOD
Friedsburg Days have
come and gone and all
committees can be proud of
their efforts. The talent show
was good; the princesses
lovely. I can only say that the
parade was good from all
comments. Irvin and I were
doing our turn at the gate
and business, was so good
we just caught glimpses of
some of the many entrants.
The afternoon was en-
joyable and the evening
spoke for itself. The Senior
Citizens quilt was won by
Mrs. Lovie from Ottawa,
They wish to thank everyone
who supported them and
they are sorry no one in the
vicinity won.
