On Suriday, Rev. Ray
Brewster led the singing at
both morning and evening
services. His message was
taken from Luke 21:8-11 and
25-33. Events happening in
the world are signs pointing
to the second coming of
Christ, Mr. Bewster told his
congregation. The many
false leaders today are a
fulfillment of prophecy that
such people would come just
before Christ returned. The
many wars among nations
and the earthquakes also
fulfill prophecy.
Christians are to expect,
Christ's coming with joy, as
we do not know just when his
coming will be, but he
commanded us to be ready
when he does come.
At the evening service Mr.
Brewster's message taken
from Jeremiah 2 :11-14
pointed out that Christians
need to believe that God is
planning good for us, no
matter what comes our way.
He will bring us to the right
end when we look to do His
will with all our hearts.
Clare Swartz provided a
message in song when he
sang a medley of choruses.

from a month's holidays with
Mrs, Brown at Tobermory ,

Light of the World" at the
service in Lucan United
Church on Sunday.
Mr. Brown told his
congregation that Jesus
spoke these words in the
temple at the important
feast of the tabernacles,
commemorating the 40 years
of wandering in the
wilderness, by the Israelites,
Light enables us to see and
guides us, as a car flasher
acts as a guide to other
drivers, "Some people only
use their faith as a flasher at
Easter, Christmas, etc., only
on special occasions", said
Mr. Brown. Jesus' light is
more like the steady beam of
head lights leading the
Christian every day of his
life, and His followers are to
be lights, just as He is the
light of life.
"He that follows me shall
not walk in darkness",
Christ lights the way for his
followers, dispelling all
darkness and fear of many
things. By the grace He
