The total enrollment was approximately 60 children. for a week-end of fun and ex- ercise at the Pinery Provin- cial Park for their annual camp out. Excitement ran high among the girls as they headed out on the highway. Up bright and early Satur- day the leaders took them on a 7 a.m. swim in Lake Huron before breakfast. "the water was super', com- mented one lass. Throughout the week-end the five leaders kept the girls well occupied with hik- ing, swimming and crafts. Sunday morning the girls broke into groups and each prepared a part of a worship service in which all later participated. Sunday afternoon the girls returned home, slightly browner, somewhat weary, but extremely happy, following their successful week-end. By JOY SCHEIFELE The two kilometre race was as exciting for the young participants as the 10K road race had been for the more seasoned runners shortly before. In the ex- treme heat the 17 boys took their places to mark the first 2K race in the Ailsa Craig Gala Days celebra- tion, The race was designed es- pecially for those under 11, with the 4K for those 11 to 14 years. It followed a shorter distance of major road race along Queen Street Cameron Macdonald, RR 1 Ailsa Craig took first place running the distance of 9.08 Rick Rosu-Myles, Parkhill captured second place with Dale Roth of Stratford corn- ing in third. In the girls race Lisa Beattie of London ran in 12.23. Wendy Molinaux of Strathroy placed second and third place went to Lori Macdonald of RR 1 Ailsa Craig. In the boys' 4K meet Brian Burridge, London made the distance in 16.06. Jeff Harmer, Parkhill followed in second place and VVayne MacGregor, Ailsa Craig took third. Diana Dixon, Ailsa Craig took the girls division with Wendy Currie of BR 3 Den- field behind her.
