Becker family
holds reunion
which was about "Conflicts
with Sin". Following discus-
sion of upcoming events the
meeting closed with a circle
prayer, They then worked on
a banner and had
refreshments.

Ernest Koehler who un-
derwent surgery in Victoria
Hospital, London, has been
released and has returned to
Huronview, Clinton.
Mrs. Verda Bosk, Detroit,
is spending some time here
with her sister, Mrs. Louella
Tieman and other relatives,
Rev. and Mrs. Wm.
Schatz, Pittsburgh, Pen-
sylvania, and Mrs. Louella
Calfas, Sarnia, have been
vacationing with Mr. and
Mrs Vernon Schatz.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader,
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader
and Mr. and Mrs. Terry
Sweiger attended the
Fischtner-Patterson Wed-
ding and reception at West
Middlesex Memorial Cen-
tre, Strathroy, Saturday.
The bride is a niece of Irvin
and Mary Rader.
Vacationers with Mr. and
Mrs. Melvin Stade and
Sherrie have been Arnold
Geiger, Detroit, and Mr. and
Mrs. Bert Molzen, Oyen,
Alberta.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lam-
bie, Cambridge-Preston,
visited with her neice and
family. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Becker.
Miss Jeanette Leibold,
Zurich spent a week with
her grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Lorne Becker and
Wayne.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Dittmer, Danny and Wayne
Becker spent some time at
Bob-Lo Island.

The 28th Becker Reunion
was held July 22 in the
pavilion at the community
centre with 106 In atten-
dance,
The sports committee
entertained all ages. A
smorgasbord supper was
enjoyed by all. Plans were
made to hold the next reu-
nion at Fort Erie in 1981
with Doug Kendrick presi-
dent, Vice-president, Jim
Heckman; secretary-
treasurer, Georgina Ken-
drick, sports committee,
Bill, David and Gary Ken-
drick; table committee,
Dorothy Rehaume. In-
vitations are to be sent two
months in advance.

Zion Lutheran church
Women's Missionary
League held their guarterly
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Bill Becker with nine ladies
attending. Mrs. Delmar
Miller based her topic on
James and John with the
heading "Ordinary people in
Extraordinary Roles," she
pointed out that those people
who think they can do
nothing might find out just
how well they can do.
It was decided to ask for
donations of old sheets and
flannelette blankets for ban-
dages. The centennial offer-
ing should be turned in dur-
ing the next 2 weeks. Lunch
was served by Mrs, Maggie
Nadiger and Mrs. Becker.
Work on Banner -
The Youth of Zion
Lutheran Church held their
meeting July 22 with
Jonathan Mellecke opening
the meeting with a prayer
followed by Bible Study
Tuesday, July 10 Clan-
deboye Club no, 1 combined
their third and fourth
meetings.
They took their flowers,
leaves, etc. out of the press
and each member did one of
the following: candle, note
paper or picture decorated
with the pressed flowers.
They discussed the first-aid
kit that was to be made at
home,

Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGee
of Blyth were recent guests
of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Mellis.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wouda,
Beachburg and Mrs. E.
Dam, Netherlands visited
recently with Mr. and Mrs.
Harry VanWieren.
Dirk VanWieren who has
been visiting his brother and
sister-in-law for the past
three and one-half weeks
returned home to the
Netherlands on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Messaros, Regina Saskat-
chewan and Mrs. Alice
Hos•chert, Wakaw,
Saskatchewan spent a few
days with Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Faber,
Bert Broekstra, Denver
Colorada and formerly of
Kippen visited relatives in
the area recently.
July 13 they held their fifth
meeting . in leader Leslie
Harrisons back yard. They
had two tents in which their
club slept. They cooked their
snack and breakfast over the
open fire.
They had hotdogs and
marshmallows for a snack
and bacon and scrambled
eggs and toast for breakfast.
This was a different activity
from their usual 411 meeting.
Janis Kestle of Clandeboye
Club 3 received her ad-
vanced honours in 411
Homemaking at
Achievement night held at
the Ilderton Community
Centre last week,
Harold and Ethel Mawson
have sold their home in the
village and moved Friday to
an apartment in London.
Mr. and Mrs, Doug Scott,
Barbara and her friend
Karri Lee, of Thornhill,
spent Sunday with Alan and
Ruth Hill. Barbara and
Karri Lee are staying for a
few holidays.
Rev. and Mrs. Stanley
Tomes, Kanesia, Ruth,
Matthew and Rebecca have
been staying with Stanleys
sister, Gwen and Ralph Lynn
and family enroute to their
new pastoral charge in tittle
Current, Manitoulin Island
from Grand Manaan Island
in New Brunswick.
Mrs. Ruth Mains has been
a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital where she had
surgery on her leg.
