TEMPLEMAN STAFFA Staffa 4-H Homemaking clubs 1, 2 and 3 participated in the Achievement Night for "Outdoor Living" held on Wednesday evening at the Kirkton Woodham Com- munity Centre. Staffa 1 club chose Happiness, Is a Walk in the Woods for their skit with all members taking part. Staffa 2 club chose as their topic From the Wilderness tp you, with all members participating. Staffa 3 club choice was Oh No! We Forgot the Can Opener, with commentary by Karen McKinnon and Kim Bronson. Janice Vivian from Staffa 1 club received her County honours for successfully completing six, 4-H Homemaking Clubs. Dairy Club Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jefferson and Steve hosted the July meeting of the Mitchell West Dairy Club, Monday evening. The meeting opened yvith the 4-H Campers cheer local fiddler John Wur'm of Exeter played to a crowd of over 12,000 campers at the National Campers and Hikers Association Camp- vention held in Guelph the past week. John was accompanied by Roger Quick and the Rainbows and supplied the Wednesday evening program of ' Country and Western music. They were enjoyed so much by everyone they were requested to play an extra half hour and, amongst the cheers, whistles and clap- ping, finished with a stan- ding ovation. The entertainers were sponsored by the Ausable River Nomads and were guests at a pot luck supper of the Nomads before the program. Pledge followed by the roll call. A demonstration for demonstration night August 1 was discussed and a committee named. Members were reminded of the all-day judging in Stratford and a quiz Was completed on judging, A quiz was also done on seeds. A committee was named to set up a display at Achievement Day in Mit- chell. .Mr. McLagan talked about the fourth H-Hands in the 4-H's. Lawrence Vink conducted a game which was enjoyed and Mrs. Jefferson served lunch, Nancy Pridham thanked the Jefferson family. Personals Sunday morning the Cr omar ty Presbyterian Congregation joined the Hibbert United Church Congrega tionf or service when Rev. J. Davies chose for his sermon, "Age Is a State of Mind", Everyone enjoyed a solo "Amazing Grace" sung by Miss Ruth McPhail, accompaning herself on the guitar. A business meeting for the Perth South District execitive of the Women's Institute was held Monday evening at the home of Mrs. John Templeman. Mr, and Mrs. Tom Scott motored to Lindsay on Thursday where they were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Moore on a trip to the Western Provinces Mr. and Mrs. Rob Tern- pleman and Carrah and Mr. and Mrs. John Templeman and family attended a family gathering at Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ische's R.R. 5 Stratford, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Wallace, and Mr. and Mrs. Alec Scott are holidaying in the Western Provinces.
