The Dashwood Tigers
scored two victories this
week in regular Huron-Perth
senior baseball play and
broke even in two exhibition
starts.
Tuesday, the Tigers
blanked the Thorndale
seniors 8-0 and Wednesday
they scored a decisive 11-2
win over the Dorchester
juniors.
In an exhibition
doubleheader Sunday, the
Dashwood club edged
Tillsonburg 2-1 on a single
run in the bottom of the ninth
and lost 7-1 to the
Walsingham Senators.
This week the Tigers will
see action on four occasions.
Tonight, Wednesday, they
will be in London to meet
the Servicemas ter juniors,
Friday they play host to the
London Just Sport juniors,
Sunday they are in Crediton
and Monday they travel to
Thorndale.
Lefty John Bruijns tossed
a two hitter as the Tigers
edged Tillsonburg 2-1. He
fanned three and walked five
opposing batters.
Dave Parsons was the
leading hitter for the Tigers
with a double and two
singles. He started the game
winning rally in the ninth

on a sacrifice by Kevin
Bestard and home as Mike

third on a single by Parsons
and home as Bob Hoffman
was safe on an error.
Despite being held to two
runs, the Tiger bats boomed
out no less than nine hits. In
addition to the three hits by
Parsons, John Bruijns
singled twice and Jim
Guenther, Perry Stover,
Kevin Bestard and Jim
Dietrich each collected one
single.
In the 74 loss to
Walsingham the only Dash-
, wood run came in the bottom
of the ninth on walks to Jim
Dietrich and Bob Hoffman
and two wild pitches.
Making up the Dashwood
five hit total were a double
by Dave Parsons and singles
from the bats of John
Hayter, Jim Dietrich, Kevin
Bestard and Bob Hoffman.
Dashwood pitching chores
were shared by Jim Guen-
ther, Perry Stover and Barry
Baynham.
The Tiger scoring in the 11-
2 romp over Dorchester was
confined to two innings. The
big hit in the fourth inning
eight run uprising was a
home run by Jim Guenther
and Rob Dickey's double was
the key blow as the Tigers
scored three times in the
fifth.

was ejected.

defeating Forest 2-1. Nairn
had advanced 'by beating
West Williams 1-0 in one of
the day's openers.
