The Centralia Community
Centre was the scene of a
happy occasion Saturday,
afternoon and evening when
the family of Mr, and Mrs.
Kenneth Hodgins held "Open
House" in honour of their
parents 40th wedding an-
niversary.
The wedding ceremony
uniting in marriage Florence
Mitchell and Kenneth
Hodgins was performed 40
years ago by the Rev. John
Falconbridge in the Cen-
tralia United Church and
was followed by a reception
at the home of the bride's
parents Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Mitchell. Miss Ada
Mitchell, sister of the bride
was maid of honour and the
best man was Charles
Hodgins, brother of the
groom,
The couple have four
children, Eleanor (Mrs.
Imre Toth of Boston); Keith
Hodgins, Georgetown; Cathy
(Mrs. Don Pickering, Hyde
Park); and Marikay (Mrs.
Jim Files, London). All were
with them for the celebration
Saturday when a large
number of relatives friends
and neighbours dropped in to
extend best wishes.

Graduation exercises were
held at the J.A.D. McCurdy
school Wednesday evening of
last week and among the
graduates were Wendi
Horton, Lori Mills, George
Tomes and Colin Tripp.
The academic
achievement award for boys
was won by George Tomes.
The girls award was cap-
tured by Debbie Piercey,
Huron Park. Jay Alblas,
Huron Park won the
citizenship award.

for seniors
Tuesday night a good
group of the tenants of the
Helen Jermyn senior
citizens apartments met in
the lounge for a night of
progressive euchre.
Mrs. Laub was the high
score winner. Mrs. Johnston
low score, and Mrs. Burton
lone hands.
The highlight of the
evening was the draw on the
quilt that had been made by
the tenants. Mrs. Boyle
assisted by Mrs. Burton of
Boyles Ladies Wear made
the draw. The quilt was won
by Mrs. Ruth Hayden of
Goderich.
