The Citizen, 2007-12-20, Page 36PAGE B4. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2007. We asked the Grade 1 students at Blyth Public School... What is a typical Christmas morning like at your house? “We put up the Christmas tree and decorate it together and make strawberry cakes. It’s when we get candy canes and presents. We leave the cookies and milk for Santa and run down the stairs to see what we got.” - Katelynn “We eat cereal for breakfast first, but not my sister, because she doesn’t want to put dishes in the sink. I rip my presents open. Last year I got a toy moose and a tractor, but this year I want drums.” - Bailey “Me and my brother would be getting our presents and then having breakfast. Eating before we open presents would be tough. I just put my presents in a pile and then open them. This year I want a Lego City and sticker books. Then we just watch t.v. and I play with my toys.” - Connor “We usually have to wait for my mom to get up, or we’ll just go and wake her up. If she doesn’t wake up right away I’ll get my horn and honk it at her or just yell.” - Jarves “Well, we get presents. We have to wake my parents up, so we yell and jump on the bed.” - Hayden “I go and wake up my mom. I have to shake her pretty hard because she’s a hard waker- upper. When I open my presents I take my time and try not to rip the paper. This year I want a big box of beads, so then for the rest of the day, I’ll make necklaces.” - Kayla “It’s a happy time with my family. I have to wake up my mom first, so I run in and jump on the bed. One time I pushed her off the bed. We have breakfast and then open our presents and then our stockings. Last year I got a Spiderman soap bottle in my stocking.” - Michael “Before we wake up my parents, we go and look for presents. When we need to get our parents up, we roll them or we set off my dad’s pager. When they wake up, we open presents, see what we got and then play with it. We usually help clean up.” - Colin “When I get up, my parents are usually awake. My dad got a present for my mom last year, but my grandma can get me anything.” - Kyle “I like to open my presents early. Last year I found the presents right after Santa came and it was still dark outside. Then I just like to play with my toys.” - Benjamin “We put up the tree and we have a special dinner.” - Simon “Christmas isn’t that fun, because my sister always wakes me up early. She’ll punch me in the arm or push me off the bed, so then I get up. Then I get dressed usually and we go downstairs and look at the presents, but we have to have breakfast before we open them.” - Greg “There’s the presents under my living tree and then we wake up really early and sneak downstairs to see them. After we open the presents, we have breakfast and then play with our toys.” - Mitch “It’s fun. My parents usually wake up before me and come and wake me up.” - Jonathan “It’s when Santa comes.” - Chad “I get up early and jump on my mom’s bed to wake her up. Then we get to play with our presents for the day.” - Kelden “On Christmas morning I have to wait upstairs until mommy and daddy let me down. After about two minutes they let me down and I get to open my presents though.” - Lucas “It was when my dad shot a buck, a big one. It’s when Santa comes. I like to get tractors from him.” - Zach Blyth Public School Grade 1 experts Blyth’s Grade 1 describe their Christmas morning Warm Wishes at Christmas "Specializing in Older Tractor Parts ... ...and looking for tractors in any condition" STEPHEN 519-523-4922 LONDESBOROUGH e-mail: ontariousedtractorparts@gmail.com Steiner Tractor Parts Supplier We hope your holiday is harmonious in every way, and that your home echoes with the sounds of laughter as you celebrate Christmas.
