McGavin’s Farm Equipment and
Farm Supply was the staff of
McGavin’s celebrating the
Christmas season. A delicious turkey
dinner was provided, then an
evening of playing games, watching
Neil’s extensive collection of videos
from events in the past, listening to
music and of course visiting with
family and friends of all of the staff.
The over 50 people there enjoyed
a great “down home” evening for the
Christmas season.
Darn, it wasn’t me winning theultimate Christmas present but it wassomeone from the Walton area. Thegrand prize winner of the CKNXUltimate Christmas present cruise tothe Caribbean was Julie Gagnier.
Congrats to her and the lucky person
who goes with her next November.
The rest of us qualifiers will just
have to dream of that vacation.
My unluckiness continued when
the draws were made at the Walton
Inn. Enjoying the varying prizes will
be Nelson Ryan, Don Dalton, Ed
McClure, John Huether and Ruth
Schade.
An apology to Glenda Morrison
for missing her name in the report ofthe choral evening at Duff’s UnitedChurch. Glenda was a key organizerand planner as well as organist andplayed in the band as well. Sorry Imissed your name and congrats on a
job well done.
The well fund for the Walton Hall
contniues to grow as donations are
still arriving. Seeing bad weather the
day of the concert kept many folks
away. We appreciate the many folks
who have kept Walton Hall in their
Christmas thoughts.
Celebrating birthdays this past
week were Emma Taylor, Emma
Baan, Elsie Carter, Nanci Ducharme,

the many folks who provide the
news events, to those who “zip the
lips” when I’m around, and to those
who pass on words of
encouragement for the article.
We’ll see you again in the new
year and have a wonderful
Christmas with family and friends.
In prayer
After receiving several visitors,
Grey Central Public School
student, Isaac Vander Borgh
took to his knees in prayer
asking God for answers after
expecting him for dinner and
receiving three groups of
visitors instead in the school’s
production of The Christmas
Guest at their Christmas
concert earlier this week. (Shawn

Rockin’
The Grade 6/7 class at Grey Central Public School kicked
off their Christmas concert earlier this week on a rockin’
note with Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. The number
was accompanied by some dancing, some finger-snapping
and some electric guitar by their teacher. Front left: James
Lumley and Lucas Laidlaw. (Shawn Loughlin photo)
