This was followed byhymn-sing selections ’Twas in theMoon of Wintertime and Still, Still,Still, accompanied by ElizabethProcter at the piano and Lila Procterplaying guitar.Allison Wightman and family lit the Advent candle and led in thereading.The congregation sang Hope is aStar, Jesus, Our Brother, Infant Holy,Infant, First Nowell.The call to worship was led byAshley Higgins. Kathleen Stennet
led in the Gathering Prayer which
was read in unison. Emily Stennet
led in the Prayer of Confession
which was read in unison.
The scripture reading, taken from
Matthew 2: 1-12, was read by
Amelia Pletch.
The senior choir sang, When Will
He Come.
Psalm 148 was the chosen
responsive reading led by Laura
Higgins.
The senior Sunday school class
presented Michael the Mouse. They
collected the white gift offering. Ben
and Andrew Procter collected the
offering. The offering prayer was led
by Heidi Raynard and Cassandra led
the Prayers of the People.
The closing hymn was Go Tell It
On The Mountain.
After the singing of Johnny
Appleseed everyone was invited to
stay for lunch following the worship
service.
The conclusion of another
successful year for the Foodgrains
Project was announced. Thanks to
the generous donations from
members of Knox United and from
members of Northminster United in
Oshawa, as well as donation of
labour and materials from local
farmers and farm suppliers, they will
be forwarding a cheque for $16,000to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.This consists of donations of$3,177.82 from Knox, $2,608.21from Northminster and $10,267.57in crop proceeds.In the six years of this project,
over $102,000 has been forwarded to
the Foodgrains Bank which when
matched four to one by CIDA
becomes over half a million dollars
to be used for world relief.

to all who have contributed in any
way.
The annual reports are due to Ruth
Gordon by Sunday, Dec. 23.
On Monday, Dec. 24 a Christmas
Eve Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

The Christmas meeting of the
Knox United Church Evening Group
met at the home of Muriel Coultes
on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The program and worship groups
presented a skit about candle
lighting at Christmas. Nancy
Folkard opened with the call to
worship and prayer, which was
followed by a hymn.

While the ice in Blyth was opened up, dozens of skaters
took advantage, lacing up and getting some exercise.
People sped around the rink and clung to the boards while
skaters from all skill levels and all ages came out to skate
