The Citizen, 2007-12-13, Page 2Can you feel it? It’s gaining ground
– that feeling that comes just before
Christmas. People are smiling,
they’re moving to the music, they’re
thinking of others more than
themselves. Oh yes, Christmas is
coming.
The Choir Choral night was in
Walton on Sunday evening, hosted by
Duff’s United for the Brussels
Ministerial folks. The happy throng
was offered a huge variety of
Christmas fare. The seven churches
that form the support group for
community, brought their choirs
together to offer separately and en
masse music to please any ear. Flutes,
drums, horns, stringed instruments,
accordions, mouth organs and more
came together to make the church
roof tremble. Music was offered it
many forms and came in the sweet
voices of angels, full band music, old
favourites and new songs for this
season of Advent. Well done music
people.
The Christmas lights in the village
are great – starting with the big tree
on the lawn of the medical dental and
driving around, the feeling for the
season is becoming clear. “It’s the
most wonderful time of the year.”
Hum that while you take a drive tosee the many things that folks can dowith a few lightbulbs.Sometimes people with Decemberbirthdays don’t always get the partythey deserve. For Betty Campbell thisyear that isn’t the case. DaughterJulie Stratton dug out her tour guidecostume and escorted Momma Betty,Jane Hall and Isabelle Wheeler to LasVegas. Shows, tours and fun had
them busy until road trip time to
Anaheim to get them to Disneyland
in time for the actual birthday.
The Crystal Cathedral was next on
the birthday tour where they attended
the Glory of Christmas as well asSunday service the next day. TouringRedondo Beach, Venice, SantaMonica, Beverly Hills andHollywood finished up the nine-daybirthday tour. Looking back all thesunshine was even better when theyknew about the storm they missedhere. For family and friends not able toattend the warm birthday, a party was
held starting in Wingham and ending
in Brussels on Saturday night.
Sounds like a fun way to celebrate the
numbers Betty.
