HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2007-12-06, Page 2Well, Santa Claus came to town.
The visit on Saturday night was
everything and more that the old
familiar Christmas song suggests.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus’s vehicle for
Saturday was compliments of the
fire department of the village and it
looked like a pretty fine way to
travel. Music is always a good thing at aparade and we are certainly pleasedto have our Legion band as one ofthe important parts of our night. Our local public schools were ableto add their notes to the sky. Nicetouch to have the students ofBrussels and Grey public schoolsshare their musical talents with us.
The lights on the floats showed the
festive mood as the area
municipalities got in the Christmas
spirit. Area businesses and
organizations got their crews
together to bring joy and laughter
and a little candy to the large
numbers viewing the parade.
Good deeds for the season were
pointed to us as food bank, theSalvation Army and eyeglasscampaigns were given attention tothe many along the parade route. Now don’t forget to add that to your“to-do list”.One of these years we need acontest to guess the number oftreasures Don McNeil has on his“floatmobile” or perhaps just name
the newest ones. Anyway no matter
how you view it, Don’s addition to
any parade makes you smile –
thanks Don.
So to the organizers, their workers,
the participants and Santa thank you
for once again giving us a great
parade, a fun evening and a very
good start to the Christmas season.
The Huron East snow gang camethrough for us on Sunday as theyrearranged the dump of snow we haddelivered overnight.
