p.m. a 17-year-old South Huron

licence for seven days after being
caught driving 134 kilometres per
hour in a posted 80 kilometer per

in Central Huron.
As per the prescribed Stunt
Driving Legislation, his licence was
suspended and the vehicle he was

PAGE 2. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2007.
Well for the 11th time this year,
there goes another month. Minutes
quickly turned into hours, hours into
days and in a wink the month of
November will be shot for 2007.
Hope it was good for you.
By next week the season of
Advent will be here. Using our
Christian calendar that’s the
waiting/getting ready time for
Christmas. Our date books may say
that but…
It seems Santa has been out and
about for at least two weeks.Take a breath. Consider the lovingaspect of Christmas time and putthat as the first thing to do. All theother details, gifts, parties and food, are to be secondary to the truemeaning of Christmas. Dig out yourSunday school memories ofChristmas and get real about thehope, joy, peace and love that’s in
your life.
The recreation board hosted the
community Christmas party on
Saturday and made a great venue for
getting together. Good company,
great food, nice music and lots of
fun. It’s a good way to end
November and set the mood for
December.
Curtis got married in October and
with the busy lives everyone seems
to lead, it’s taken us until now to get
together. If Curt was part of your
past life and you’d like to meet Julie,
feel free to visit our home onSaturday after 2 p.m. We are nottrying to snub Santa and we dorealize that Santa starts his paradethat evening. After all the yearsSanta has been good to us wecertainly would not interfere withhis party. Pop in and you can talk toJulie about life with Curt and ofcourse you’ll want to tell Curt a few
things.
Think about it – Julie, Curt and
Santa all in one day – good deal.
As the Christmas spirit sneaks up
on you, be sure to think of how your
actions affect the lives of others.Charitable donations are a good wayto say you care. Shopping locallysupports our business people andkeeps our village viable. Useful giftsand ones that support good causeswork on many levels. So as you get ready to do your partfor Christmas joy, remembereverything we do affects someone.
Check out all the neat things to
attend in the next few weeks – lots of
very nice ways to spend our time.
Enjoy life!
Bye now, Betty G.W.

The Brussels Cadets are
still collecting pop cans and
returnable bottles. Leave them at the
rear of the Legion on Tuesday
evenings.
The Friday night supper saw a
great crowd enjoy roast pork. This
week is salisbury steak.
The Branch hosted the Huron
County men’s darts on Saturday.
Over 50 men had a great afternoon
of darting.
The Hamilton family enjoyed
their family Christmas at the Branch
on Sunday afternoon. A social time
of visiting and food are always fun
with the family.
Friday is the last day to pay your
dues at the early-bird price and enter
your name for the draw. It makes
Chairman Greg Wilson’s job a lot
easier when the dues are paid before
year’s end.
Sports sheets for darts are up so
drop into the Branch and sign up or
contact sports chairman Rick
McDonald.
