PETER JAMES COOK
After a brave eight-year battle
with a brain tumour, Peter James
Cook of Goderich passed away at his
home in Goderich on Friday, Nov.
16, 2007, surrounded by his loving
family. He was 41.
Peter was born Nov. 19, 1965.
Peter was the dear son of Kay
Buchanan of Egmondville and her
friend Arie Van Diepen. His father
John Cook and his stepfather Bill
Buchanan predeceased him. Also
left to mourn his passing are his
siblings George Cook, Brenda Cook
and Bill McDougall, Connie and
Kevin Tasker, Dianne and Paul
Josling, Bill Cook, Stephen and
Debbie Cook, Mary Anne Fitzgerald
and her friend Ernie Dale, Sam and
Vickie Cook and Susan Dale and
Charles East. He is also survived by15 nieces and nephews and fivegreat-nieces and nephews and hisextended family Donna, Connie,
Sherri and Herb Govier and their
families.
Peter also had many other families
of friends who will miss him dearly.
He was a volunteer with the Blyth
Festival, the Thresher Reunion
and anything he could volunteer
for. Even after he became ill again
he joined the Special Olympics
in Goderich as a volunteer because
he was still able to volunteer
at something that didn’t take a
lot of physical labour, just a big
heart.
The Leafs have a real chance at
winning now with Peter as their
special coach from above.
Friends were received at the Blyth
Visitation Centre of Falconer
Funeral Homes Ltd., 407 Queen St.,
Blyth on Sunday evening from 7-9
p.m. where the funeral service was
held on Monday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.
Pastor Les Cook officiated.
Pallbearers were George, Bill,
Stephen and Sam Cook, Kevin
Tasker and Herb Govier.
Interment was at Brandon
Cemetery, Belgrave.
As expressions of sympathy the
family would appreciate memorial
donations to the Brain Tumour
Research Foundation or the
Goderich Sunset Strikers Special
Olympics Bowling Club.
HAROLD BENTLEY VINCENT
Mr. Harold Vincent of Belgrave
passed away at Huronlea, Brusselson Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007. He was 93. Mr. Vincent was the beloved
husband of the former Edith
Wallace. He was the dear father of
Murray and Joyce of RR1, Belgrave,
Donald of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia,
Neil and Joan of RR3, Wingham and
Grant of RR5, Wingham and his
friend Judy Peel. Mr. Vincent is also
survived by nine grandchildren and
one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Vincent was predeceased by
his parents Albert and Bertha
(McDowell), his sisters, Edna
MacSween and Dorothy Logan, his
brother, Leslie Vincent, his
granddaughter Shannon Vincent
and his daughter-in-law Carol
Vincent.
Visitation was at the McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service was held at the
funeral home chapel on Friday at
1:30 p.m. Mr. Bruce Whitmore
officiated.
Interment was in Brandon
Cemetery, Belgrave.
Memorial donations to Knox
United Church, Belgrave, Wingham
Hospital Foundation or Belgrave
School Fair would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.

STECKLEY
Wayne Steckley of the
Municipality of Morris-Turnberry,
passed away at his residence onWednesday, Nov. 14, 2007. He was59. Wayne was the beloved husband
of the former Erika Teske. He was
the dear father of Loretta and
Edward Browne of Atwood and
Cindy Padovan of Kitchener. Wayne
was the brother of Ezra Steckley and
Arnold and Kathleen Steckley of
RR1, Bluevale, Clarence Steckley of
Rodney and Jim Cline of RR1,
Bluevale.
His parents Soloman and Ella
(Jantzi) Steckley, his brother Clare,
his sister Vicki Hamill and her
daughter,Amanda, predeceased him.
Private funeral arrangements have
been entrusted to McBurney Funeral
Home in Wingham.
