HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2007-11-22, Page 11Flirting with the stars was our
own Pamela Hackwell last week.
One of her professions is working
at Gotstyle in Toronto. Arriving the
shop was Mike Holmes of Holmes
on Homes, for a complete
makeover. Of course, this was being
filmed for E-Talk and Ben
Mulroney.
It was broadcast on CTV on
Thursday evening and again Friday
morning and there was Pamelagiving him a haircut and shave. Hewent on to get new clothes, etc. forhis makeover but Pamela wasn’t inon that. Doreen Hackwell has been inhospital having undergone kneesurgery. She’s coming along andshould be home soon. Kathleen Semple is in hospital in
Kitchener recovering from hip
surgery. She’s coming along well
and will hopefully be home soon.
Jim and Linda McDonald enjoyed
a holiday in Las Vegas last week. I
haven’t heard about any big
winnings but they had a good time.
Visiting with Howard and Audrey
Hackwell were Don and Audrey
Wilson. Don’s grandmother was
Mrs. Hoy, who lived in Walton, so
Don spent many summers here with
Grandma. Don spent a lot of time
with Walton young people like theKirkbys, McDonalds, Hackwells,Drezells, Humphries and Ennises. They reminisced about swimming, ball, football, riding double onbicycles and about houses — whoused to live in them and who lives inthem now. If you know Don or have heardhim on the radio, you know between
Don and Audrey and Howard and
Audrey there would be lots of of
laughing and talking going on.
It was birthday party time for
young Ryder Lee, who turned the
great age of two. Attending the
party for the young man were
Grandma Judy Lee, Grandma and
Grandpa Jim and Sheila Thompson,
Great-Grandma and Grandpa Ron
and Joan Lee, Great-Grandma
Carolyn Thompson and lots of
aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ryder is the son of Matt andCheryl Lee. The family of Mary I. Humphrieswere on hand at the auction sale inSeaforth on Saturday. Theremaining few items were cleanedout of the house and ready for thenew owners to move in. Chris Lee attended the promotersmeeting in Courtland for the
motocross racing year for 2008.
Brett Lee, as director of motocross,
chaired the meeting to plan the new
season and discuss any issues from
this past year.
Keith and Gloria Wilbee were the
lucky winners of a trip to Orillia and
Casino Rama at the Co-op
Christmas party last year. They had
a chance to use their prize this
weekend and were able to attend the
Engelbert Humperdinck show.
Gloria reports that it was a fast-
paced, lively show that Engelbertputs on even though he is 65. Their room was absolutelybeautiful as is the hotel decked outin its Christmas finery. They reporthaving a wonderful time. For those ladies wanting to attendthe Walton UCW Christmas mealand fashion show, you must contactDianne McCallum right away if
interested.
Don’t forget while out Christmas
shopping to pick up a gift for
children for white gift Sunday being
held at Duff’s Dec. 2 to benefit the
Huron County Christmas Bureau.

Co-op experience a body of work
Have you got a car that needs
bodywork?
Southgate Auto Collision of
Brussels does everything from rust
work to fixing damage from fender
benders.
I am a co-op student at F.E.
Madill and Southgate is where I am
doing my placement. Andrew
Southgate is my supervisor and he
teaches me how to fix and prepare
vehicles for painting. This includes
jobs such as sandling, spot welding,
removing dents, body filling and
installing new parts.
