It was hosted by Eleanor Stevenson, Joan Jacobs, Neil Hatt and Edna McLellan. The euchre parties will begin again the first Friday in April of 2008. Winners were: share the wealth, Lloyd Smith and Lloyd Weber; door prize, Leona McDonald; travelling lone hand, Leanne Minielly and Adrian Verstoep; high lady, Viola Adams; low lady, Isabelle Craig; lone hands, Verna Crawford, Leona McDonald; high man, Allan Edgar; low man, Judy Hahn, Keith Turnbull; most lone hands, Ross Stephenson. The lucky tally winners were: Yvonne Knight, Jared Machan, Davis Minielly, Allan Martin, Myrna Burnett, Leslie Knight, Linda Minielly, Lloyd Weber, Helen Dobson,Bill Craig, Beryl Smith, Murray Hoover, Leota Thompson and Lloyd Smith. The card games for this year raised approximately $900 for the hall. The Brussels Atom Reps won bothgames this past week. Wednesday night saw them faceHowick on home ice. Brusselsagain stormed over Howick to takean 11-0 win. This game was the fourth shutout for goalie Matt McNichol this season. Racking in the goals for Brussels were Mitch Kellington with five, Lexi Smith with two, andTim Waechter, Scott Dolmage,Hayden TenPas, and Ben Hruskaeach with one. Assisting were Nic Zwep,Dolmage, TenPas, Waechter, Kellington, and Smith. On Saturday, Brussels travelled to Monkton to face Elma Logan. Again, these kids were eager to win. Scoring for Brussels were Hruskawith two, Smith and Kellington.Assisting were Smith, Zwep, andLogan Kellington. This game earned them theireighth victory of the season with a final score of 4-1. Brussels now sits in second place, behind Goderich, in the WOAA Atom Rep South division. (Vicky Bremner photo) Atom Reps post 2 victories The Saugeen Maitland Pee Wee A girls hockey team played an away game on Saturday against the Cambridge Roadrunners. The girls played a solid game scoring a single goal in the third period. The goal was scored by Hannah Davidson of Kincardine, assisted by Caroline McDowell of Belgrave. The shutout was earned by Shelby Arsenault of Shallow Lake. On Sunday the team hosted the Stratford Aces and again played a solid game winning 2 - 0. Goals were scored by Kelly Gribbons of Port Elgin, and Vanessa Armstrong of Gorrie. Assists went to Shelsie Popp with two, Miranda Lantz, and McDowell. The shutout was earned by Stephanie Sluys of Clinton. The team now has six straight shutout games. A whole lot more than great rates and friendly service. After defeating this team the previous week, these kids were ready to win again. With Derrick Waechter in net and Wyatt Machan and Logan Kellington scoring the goals, it was a great win for Brussels with a final score of 4-2. Assisting Machan and Kellington were Delayna Smith, Daniel Fritz, Noah Terpstra, Dean Scarrow and Bennett Newell.
