Livestock for the week ending Nov.
9 were 2,539 head of cattle and 417
lambs and goats.
On Tuesday, the fed steers and
heifers sold on a steady market.
Choice steers and heifers sold $72 to
$75 with sales up to $81.25. Second
cut sold for $70 to $72. Cows sold
on a steady market.
On Thursday, veal sold on a good
strong trade, at $2 to $5 higher.
Lambs sold on a good strong market
while heavy lambs sold $0.05
higher. Sheep sold on a steady
market, while goats sold on a strong
market.
On Friday, calves sold steadily,
while yearlings sold at $2 higher.
There were 339 steers on offer.

Hagersville consigned eight steers
averaging at 1,273 lbs. selling at an
average of $76.86 with six Limo
steers averaging 1,278 lbs. selling
for $79.50. Don Shiell of Wingham
consigned 14 steers averaging at
1,551 lbs. selling for an average of
$72.62. One Limo steer, weighing
1,400 lbs. sold to Dominion Meat
Packers for $78.

$69.03 with two Limo steers
averaging at 1,443 lbs. selling to

A long time coming
When it was all said and done, hundreds had either taken
out or sat down to Duff’s United Church’s turkey supper last
week at the Brussels Morris and Grey Community Centre.
It was a busy spot that night, as the supper went on in the
auditorium, hockey was played on the rink and eventually
the meeting to decide the fate of the Brussels Library was
held in the Community Centre’s upper level. (Shawn Loughlin
