Wednesday night saw Brussels at home against Zurich. After 21 shots on the Zurich net,and just 13 on the Brussels net,it ended in a 4-4 tie. Scoring for Brussels were Lexi Smi th on a br e a k awa y,M i t c h Ke l l i n g t o n ,Tim Wa e chte r with a wrap-around goal and a very smooth p as s from Hay de n Te n P as to Kellington for the fourth. Saturday saw Brussels tra vel to Howick. These kids went out to win and they did just that. After several passes and some really nice set-ups, blew Howick away with a 16-0 win. Hattricks were accomplished by Lexi Smith,Mitch Kellington,Nic Z w ep an d Tim Wa e ch t e r . A l s o racking in goals were Ben Hruska with two,Reece McArter with one and Scott Dolmage with one. The entire team earned credit for all the assists. Earning his third shutout this season was goalie Matt McNichol. Ge rri t t Logtenberg scored on the first shift of the game to start things off.The very next shift Zack Berwick picked up the ball at centre,carried it in and got a hard short away into the net. Things cooled down a bit until the s t a rt of the second period wh e n Logtenberg again found himself in front of the goalie with the ball. L og t e n b e rg flipped the ball hi gh into the net for his second goal. B lyt h kept pu shing the Seaf o r t h team. Katie Bos dug the ball out of the corner to feed Scott Jefferson, who fired the ball from the top of the faceoff circle into the corner of the net. Then Neil Logtenberg got into the a c t i o n ,fi r st p assin g to Ge rri t t Logtenberg who drove in his thir d goal of the game.And in his next shift Neil Logtenberg got the ball infront to Carlene Bremner to score. Bryce Glousher played well in net for Blyth,earning a shut out for the game. Dynamite won 6 - 0. Go for it It was a good competitive match when the Brussels Atom Local League hosted the Zurich squad at the local arena on Saturday at noon. The game ended with a score of 5-0 for the visitors. At home in Howick on Saturday, S t e ph an ie McD ou ga ll ea rne d a shutout against the Waterloo Ravens, wi n ni n g 3-0 . G oal sc or e r s w e re Eastlyn Bellamy,Victoria Bertrand and Dru Austin. On Su nd ay,th e Ligh tni ng travelled to Sarnia to beat the Sting 3-0 with Brianne Wheeler playing strong in net. Bertrand put two in the Sarnia net with Ona Mezenberg adding a single tally. They are next in action on the road this weekend with a double header in Windsor on Saturday and a game in Chatham on Sunday. Saugeen Maitland closes door on Waterloo, Sarnia
