The evening begins at 5:15 p.m. with a preview, and champagne generously donated by Colio Estate Wines. A dinner served by Between Friends Catering from Exeter and music by Huron Harp Ensemble will both add to the celebration. NJS Design has donated use of the ever-popular chocolate fountain and Tom Melady will MC the event. Richard Lobb, auctioneer, will maximize bids during a dynamic live auction. Guests will be first to hear Eric Coates, artistic director, announce his plans for the 2008 season. Three opportunities are available to take part in this event. Consider donating an item or service on behalf of a business or make a monetary donation to help co- ordinate one-of-a-kind exciting travel packages. People are also invited to attend this event but tickets are limited and going quickly at $40. Monetary gifts are full tax creditable and all donors will be recognized in the Elves and Angels auction catalogue, the Blyth Festival members’ newsletter Curtain Call and on the Festival website. “During my time on the board, I have seen how the festival enriches the lives of people in our community through distinctively Canadian programming,” says auction chair Trish Trenter. “This auction is a way for us to promote local business and attractions while raising the much needed funds to continue our work.” The Blyth Festival has produced 102 new, Canadian plays over the last 33 years. The Festival is a non- profit, charitable company that relies on fundraising, memberships and donations to provide for daily operations of the annual summer theatre, new play development programme, Young Company, art gallery, choir and orchestra.
