We hit the road again last week-
end. The traffic clogging our four-
and-more-lane highways makes me
wonder why rural folk are preached
to so much about conservation and
the environment.
Farmers and other rural people
have been good stewards of their
world for decades, recycling, com-
posting, reusing, etc. So we cut our
lawns with gas-powered mowers but
that can’t compare with the emis-
sions of all those cars on a daily
basis.
While we go about shutting off
lights in unused rooms, the office
buildings blaze away night after
night and the dark season is just
beginning.
Perhaps a few of those tiny night
lights would be a good substitute;
it’s amazing how much light they
shed in a closed space.
No service at church, Sun.
