The Citizen, 2007-09-27, Page 28PAGE 28. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2007.Huron County residents are beingencouraged to help break a Guinness
World Record by taking a walk.
The World Record Walk is an
Ontario-wide attempt to break the
Guinness World Record for the most
people walking one kilometer at the
same time. Huron County residents
are invited to join one of six World
Record Walks taking place
throughout the county on
Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 12:30 p.m.
The record is currently held by
Australia with more than 100,000
participants.
Penny Nelligan, the executive
director of the Huron County Health
Unit, is hoping for a large turnout.
“Walking is good for our health,
environmentally friendly, and fun.Having the chance to take part in an
Ontario-wide record breaking event
is an exciting opportunity,” Nelligan
says she’s impressed with the
enthusiasm of local organizers
across the county.
By participating and filling out a
ballot, participants have a chance to
win great prizes, including a shot at
winning a $50 gift certificate to a
local footwear store. There’s no need
to pre-register – just come with your
walking shoes on!
The World Record Walk is being
organized by Green Communities
Canada with support from the
Ontario Ministry of Health
Promotion.

HANDSOMELY DETAILED TWO-STOREY
Gables always make a house look like home, and this handsomely detailed two-storey residence, with its
grouping of decorative windows, is no exception.
Entry is up two steps and through a covered porch. The doorway, flanked by sidelights, leads into a foyer
with a coat cupboard on the right. The great room, already visible beyond a half wall, promises a warm
welcome. The built-in fireplace will make this room especially cozy during the cooler months.
Flowing seamlessly from the great room are the kitchen and breakfast nook. The kitchen’s U-shaped counter
configuration will save steps for the cook, who will also appreciate the handy phone desk and work island, not
to mention the pantry. The breakfast nook, in a bayed-out area overlooking the back garden, will make the ideal
spot for casual meals and snacks.
A laundry room with a broom cupboard, as well as a closet for coats and off-season gear, is located next to a
two-piece powder room. Adjacent, a U-shaped staircase, lit by an arched feature window, leads to the second
floor.
The master suite, overlooking the back garden for privacy, boasts a large walk-in closet and an ensuite with
both a soaker tub and shower stall. A mullioned window overlooking the front garden will flood the ensuite with
light.
Bedrooms numbers 2 and 3 share a three-piece bathroom, which will provide sound insulation between the
second bedroom and the master suite. The third bedroom features a corner window that cries out for a window
seat.
The exterior is beautifully finished in horizontal siding with stone accents and painted trim. Attractive vents
with oval frames add interest to two of the gabled areas; all are finished in wood shingles.
This home measures 32 feet wide and 48 feet deep, for a total of 1,530 square feet of living space.
Plans for design 7-3-875 are available for $584 (set of 5), $661 (set of 8) and $710 for a super set of 10.
B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $25.00 for Priority charges within B.C. or $45.00 outside of
B.C. Please add 6% G.S.T. or 14% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and Priority charges.
Our 39th Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 300 plans is available for $13.50 (includes
taxes, postage and handling). Make all cheques and money orders payable to "Home Plan of the Week" and
