The nuptials of Tiffany Reinhart and Ben Craig, officiated by Pastor Dave Wood, took place at 2 p.m. in the Missionary Church in Auburn on Saturday. As half the village of Auburn was in attendance, for most of you reading, I won’t be able to expand on our mutual experience of love and joy. For the rest of you, I can assure you the bride and groom, along with their families and friends, were cradled in the loving arms of a perfect day. The groomsmen were Jeffrey Clark, David Campbell, Jason Rutledge, and Ian Andrews; the groom’s brother, Peter Craig, was best man. After having heard all the jokes, kind words and glowing tributes bestowed on the groom, Ihave no doubt this fine young manwould have a dozen more willing tostand by him and eager to call himfriend. While the same could be said forthe bride, those chosen for thehonour as bridesmaids were friendsof Tiffany’s, Melanie Grant, LeahBauer, Sarah Seeger and the bride’saunts, Liz Chamas and Patty Farnsworth. Maid-of-honour was the bride’s sister, and best friend, Maegan Reinhart. Flowergirl was Yasmeen Chamas, and ringbearer was Zach Chamas, cousins of the bride. For those new to Auburn area, Ben Craig is the son of Al and Elaine Craig, and Tiffany is daughter of Joni (Shoemaker) and John Reinhart. The newly-wedded pair have both lived in Auburn their whole lives and in fact had only to cross the road to find one another. This classic tale of the girl-next- door, or, boy-next-door, continued to unfold later in the day at Saltford Valley Hall where wedding guests were welcomed by decorated surroundings, inviting tables and ultimately a delicious dinner. The evening progressed withspeeches, toasts, kissing challenges,a lot of fun, and a sense of blendingand bonding among their manyfamilies.I have known the Shoemakerfamily for many years and Wayneand I were pleased to reacquaintourselves with them through Tiffany. We first met her in Grade 9 at GDCI, where she and our daughter Leah became good friends and played many sports together over many years. We have shared a lot of tournament talk and a few road trips, all memories I treasure. Tiffany has grown into a generous, young woman who I am proud to know. She has met and married a devoted and hardworking young man. On Saturday, she was Cinderella in her very own fairy-tale wedding and today they startworking on the ‘happily ever after’.Now to my own never ending tale,in an effort to gain much neededfocus on my more creative writingchallenges this will be my lastcolumn for the Auburn news. I haveenjoyed my time getting to knowsome of the great people in andaround Auburn. During my time writing area news, I was especially pleased and honoured for the opportunity to do a write-up on Auburn’s oldest native, Bernice Anderson. She’s a grand lady and I treasure my time spent with her. I appreciate all those who took time to send me a tid-bit of news occasionally. Thanks again Nancy, for your onerous efforts during my first year. Thank you to everyone for your support. Pouring it on Sam Dougherty was a helping hand at the griddle as the Blyth Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Legion hosted a breakfast at Memorial Hall on Sunday morning.
