THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2007. The days of September are here. To every person that brings a different thought. To the parents of the school kids it means a little more routine. To the teachers it means the lessons are about to begin. To the church leaders it means a little more regular attendance and participation. To organizations it means the beginning of another season. To the kids, school’s in. To the retired it means another month is shot. Lots of folks were getting that last bit of summer before the tents and campers need to be tucked away. Traffic was heavy starting Friday as favourite spots were reserved for the Labour Day weekend. For many it was the last time for this year to enjoy camping. The fine weather we’ve been having has been a blessing for the fly boys. There’s been lots of traffic overhead by many pilots in various planes. The one that was different was the helicopter last week that was up and about a lot. Brussels Agromart was letting their farmers have a look at their crops from above. Nice change. It’s the last chance to support Blyth Festival for the summer season. The Stompin’ Tom story is back, so if you need a little fiddle music in your life get your ticket soon. The fall fair is getting pretty close. It’s time to check the fair book and see what categories catch your eye. The Fair is Sept. 18 and 19 this year. Plan on supporting the fair board. Be sure to thank them for their ongoing work. We are fortunate to have a fair after all these years. The smell of fall, the arrival of the wasps and the cooling temperature make it very clear that summer has just about had the biscuit. By now, Betty G.W.
