the Aged, on Friday, Aug. 24, 2007.
Born in Grey Twp. on Nov. 2, 1922,
Evelyn was in her 85th year.
Evelyn was the beloved wife of the
late Glen Bray. She was the dear
mother of Jean Fischer and husband
Robert of Kincardine, Murray Bray
and wife Gladys of RR2, Bluevale
and Ruth Hutton and Larry Wight of
RR5, Mitchell. She was the dear
sister of Bernice MacFarlane of
Brussels. Evelyn was the dear
grandmother of Sandra Fischer and
Jeff Scott of Kincardine, Sherry
Fischer of Owen Sound, Tracey
Fischer of London, Steven and
Michele Bray of Cambridge, Paul
and Ruthann Bray of Port Elgin,
Brian and Amy Bray of Listowel,
Kevin Hutton and Tracey of
Kitchener, Todd and Samantha
Hutton of Elmira, and Kim and
Darcy Herrfort of Palmerston. She
will also be missed by her 15 great-
grandchildren, and sisters-in-law
Priscilla Bray and Helen Bray.
Her sisters Berva Warwick and
Eva Wright and son-in-law David
Hutton predeceased her.
Friends were received by the
family one hour prior to the funeral
service being conducted at the
Schimanski Family Funeral Home,
Brussels, on Sunday,Aug. 26 at 1:30
p.m. with Sandra Cable officiating.
Carrying floral tributes were Kim
Herrfort, Sandra Fischer, and Tracey
Fischer. Pallbearers were Steven
Bray, Paul Bray, Brian Bray, Kevin
Hutton, Todd Hutton, and DarcyHerrfort.Interment was in Brussels
Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
the Huronlea Auxiliary, Brussels
United Church or the charity of
one’s choice.

LAURA MURRAY
Laura (Leiper) Murray of Seaforth
passed away at Seaforth Community
Hospital on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007.
She was in her 85th year.
Laura was the beloved wife of the
late Gordon Murray. She was the
dear mother of Susan Murray of
Brussels and loved sister of Gladys
Leiper of Seaforth. Mrs. Murray willalso be remembered by sisters-in-law Marg (Glen) Haase of Sault Ste.
Marie, Ann Murray of Woodstock
and Marion Murray of Toronto and
by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her
husband Gordon Murray, her parents
William and Emma (Lowrie) Leiper,
her siblings Stuart Leiper, Ida Leiper
and Ross Leiper and several
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home,
Seaforth on Wednesday from 2 - 4
and 7 - 8:30 p.m. where the funeral
service was held on Thursday, Aug.
23 at 2 p.m. Rev. John Gould and
Pastor Brent Kipfer officiated.
Interment was at Harpurhey
Cemetery.
Memorial donations to theCanadian Cancer Society would beappreciated.
Pallbearers were Louis Maloney,
Murray Dennis, Steve Dennis, Larry
Dolmage, Frank Dolmage and
Milton Dale. Flowerbearers were
Bob Norris, and Neil Dolmage.

GEORGE ALFRED SOCKETT
Mr. George Sockett of Braemar,
Wingham passed away at Wingham
and District Hospital on Sunday,
Aug. 26, 2007. He was 87. He was
the devoted friend of Edith Pidgeon
of Wingham and brother of Esther
and Alvin Blackwell of Goderich,
Mary Wilson of Orangeville, Eileen
and Charles Poole of Lindsay, Lloyd
and Rosemary Sockett of Wiarton.Mr. Sockett is also survived byseveral nieces and nephews
including his caregivers Jim and
Margaret Blackwell of Goderich.
His parents James and Frances
Sockett and his brothers James,
Oron and Raymond Sockett
predeceased him.
Visitation was at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Monday, Aug. 27 from 7 - 9 p.m.
The funeral service was held at the
funeral home chapel on Tuesday at
11 a.m. Mrs. Margaret Blackwell
officiated.
Interment was in Zion Amabel
Cemetery, Amabel Twp. Memorial
donations to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Ontario or a charity of
one’s choice would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.

ServiceOntario centre in Goderich,
Huron-Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell
announced recently.
“Ontarians told us they want fast,
friendly and easy access to
government services,” Mitchell
said.
“This new centre in Goderich will
help ensure that we’re meeting the
needs of this community and the
surrounding region.”
The new centre, at 38 North St.,
will be open in March 2008. Its
hours of operation will be Monday
to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5
p.m.
Some specific services
available will include fishing
and hunting licences, park passes,
big game draw applications,
publication sales, landlord/tenant
dispute applications, employment
standards applications, land
registration services and general
information and referral for
government programs from the
federal, provincial and municipal
levels.
Public computers and staff
guidance are also available to
help customers who need on-line
access to services such as birth,
death and marriage certificates,
business registrations and name
searches and, lien searches and
inquiries.
