enjoy a game of Roll the Dice —
Red,White or Blue. Aart DeVos with
pars on holes three, four and five
captured top prize. In second spot on
his initial visit with the seniors, Ross
Peacock was the winner. He was
thrilled as it was his best round ever.

on number two and Ray Walker had
the longest putt on number nine.
This week the seniors format will be
Evens or Odds with golfers playing

golfers out for competition. Once

rule – both with scores of 37. Bill
McGrath captured the low net with
second low net to Rob Gallaher.
Shawn Walker was closest to the pin

There was a good turnout for
Thursday night men’s golf with 26
on hand for a quick nine. For the
second night in a row Terry Powell
hit the leader board with a 38. In
second spot was Don Rae with a 39
with Rob Gallaher in third with a 40.
There were two hidden scores this
week with Ross Danbrook and
Bruce Pewtress the winners. This
was Bruce’s initial attendance with
this crew and he proved he knows
the lay of the land, coming in with a
43.

Ask Dan Campbell his favourite
hole of the local nine and there is a
good chance he will reply number
six. Playing with the Saturday early
risers Dan recorded an eagle two
with a chip in from inside the 100-
yard marker in his front nine and on
the back nine had a birdie.

On Friday, Aug. 18, 26 members
took a bus trip to play the Ferns Golf
and Country Club at Markdale. Best
score of the day was a two over par
73 carded by Dave Meriam. Dave
was the big winner of the day
winning pin awards thanks to birdie
on holes two and 17. Many found the
high winds challenging. Questioned
about his favourite hole one golfer
replied “the 19th”.
***
Friday was not the “hanging of the
green” but rather “the uncovering of
the new greens” for a sneak preview.
The results were amazing as the new
green additions certainly have a
good thick catch of grass. The covers
were replaced for further protection
and growth promotion.
***
The ladies held their golf and
barbecue on Aug. 14 with 40 people
participating. The ladies played a
special scramble with each foursome
making a draw after completing the
hole to see whose score would be
counted.
