THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2007.Continued from page 12Ross, I have learned a greater appre-ciation for courage – you are always willing to jump into class discussions. Trevor Tyler – Thanks to Trevor, I have learned about dedication – and how much work it is to be a stats- keeping super fan. Tyler Black – Thanks to Ty, I have learned about responsibility – Ty is that guy – on time, every time, he has emerged as the most responsible per- son I know. Laura Peach – Thanks to Laura, I have learned that while there are at least two sides to any issue, you will like yours and I will like mine – and we are both good with that.Kirby Cook – Thanks to Kirb, Ihave learned that it is possible for someone to be “Canadian Idol, Prime Time Cool” on the outside, while qui- etly courageous on the inside. Kelly MacDonald and Amy Root – Thanks to Kelly and Amy, I have learned the power of friendship – these two are inseparable, chatty, and almost exclusively “happy.” Alex Raynard – Thanks to Alex, I have learned about fairness in compe- tition. You play every sport, you play hard and you play fair. Tonia Ritchie – Thanks to Tonia, I have learned that it takes courage to move to a new school and make newfriends.Jason Young – Thanks to Jason, on our walks home from school, I have learned to be cautious, always look both ways before we cross the street and never talk to strangers. Emily Nicholson – Thanks to Emily, I have learned that a smile and a positive attitude can make a differ- ence everyday. Adam Cronin – Thanks to Chubbs, I have learned the art of the deal – Adam inspects everyone’s lunches daily, and negotiates black-market trades for Yop and Soy Milk. Matt Chalmers – Thanks to Nibs, I have learned that every organizationneeds an in-house tech wizard – Nibsruns BPS – cables, wires, computers, audio, video – the place will probably shut-down by the second week of September! Nibs, better get a service contract. As we move on from BPS, and each of us begins to connect the dots in the journeys of our lives, we will do so beginning at several different high schools. From high school, we will continue the journeys across the province, the country and perhaps for someone in this room – half way around the world. And while life will get busy, myhope is that from time to time, youwill take a look behind you. That you will look back at the dots. And smile! I wish each of you much health, happiness and success. And I close with this timeless advice: If life gives you lemons, make lemonade But if life gives you pick- les, you might as well give up because pickle-ade is disgusting! Ladies and gentlemen, it is my privilege to present to you, my friends, my classmates, the graduat- ing class of Blyth Public School for 2007. Thank you. Continued from page 13 always follow the study guide. It was usually really close to the test we were going to get. We were very lucky to have Mr. Weber as our teacher. He is not only a great teacher but he is patient and real- ly wants the best for us. What other kind of person would subject himself to four days and three nights with 17 teenagers at Camp Celtic if he didn’t like have a little faith in us? Last but not least, Mrs. Dolmage taught us something. When you are the secretary, it’s best to let the principal believe that he is the glue holding the school together. She is the eyes, ears and right hand to a lot of parents! It is no secret that our parents are a big part of our success. Late-night projects, studying for tests, driving us to tournaments and other excursions, field trip chaperones, lets not forget, driving us to school when we miss the bus…. The list is endless. I know that it is part of their job as a parent but it’s not always easy and sometimes to help us, you sacrifice your own needs. Without the help of our parents, I know, we might not be here tonight. So thank you parents, know that your kids appreciate everything you’ve done. It’s amazing to me that we have been in school together for nine to 10 years and that when we leave this school, we are not just classmates any- more, we are lifelong friends. We’ve all left our mark on this school in a dif- ferent way – for some it might be aca- demic or athletics and for some it may be writing your name inside the bath- room stall. Whatever your mark, make it count. A wise person once said, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it, you will land among the stars.” Live your life to the fullest and you will have many opportunities present- ed to you. We are here to learn, observe, grow and aspire to be all that we can be, so try everything you can, until you find your passion. Make the most of every day. We don’t choose our destiny – we only influence it. Congratulations Class of 2007. We did it! Brussels student says, ‘Whatever your mark, make it count’ Continued from page 17 Next we have Stacey. She is an excellent ball player and hates being called Mrs. Stubbs. Last, but not least, thanks to the teachers who got us here. This year has been full of excitement and memories that will last us a lifetime. After this week we will be saying our goodbyes to this building, our teachers and some of our classmates. We will be branching off to different schools and directions in life. I’m sure everyone has had their share of ups and downs since the day they entered this great environment and speaking on behalf of everyone, I know that no one will forget the memories created here at Seaforth Public School. We would like to thank everyone involved in this graduation, it could- n’t have happened without you. Now let’s here it for the class of 2007!
