HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2007-07-12, Page 17By Nicole McIntosh and Luke HarrisonHoly, it’s hard to believethat Grade 8 is over. Our last year of elemen-tary school has been ablast. We’ve participated in
numerous activities such as
soccer, which the boys
placed first and the girls
placed third. In basketball
both the boys and girls teams
placed second. We also participat-
ed in cross country, volleyball and
track and field.
Best of all we did was our
year-end trip to Camp Celtic.
We made lots of memories
there that will always be
with us. Some of the events
that happened at camp
included rock climbing,
flags, singing at the camp-
fires and many embarrassing
moments at the dining hall.
Another extremely embar-
rassing moment was when both
the McCallum boys decided they
could jump over a massive puddle.
They ended up embarrassing them-
selves miserably and soaking the
only clothes that they had left.
We wouldn’t have experienced
Camp Celtic if it wasn’t for Mrs.
Reynolds, so thank you!
At this point in our speech we
would like to say a little something
about all the graduates of 2007. To
start things off the dynamic duo
Katie and Nicole. These two girls
have set a record stating that they
were the only two kids smart enough
to skip school, then come and hang-
ing out in the school parking lot.
Now that’s funny.
The next two are the McCallum
boys, Luke and Curtis. People say
they are a lot alike, but they have
totally different personalities. Curtis
is a soccer phenomenon and Luke is
the clumsiest kid alive. However, he
has always something funny to say.
These next two girls may wear
dark clothes but they are very
colourful people. They are Kristen
and Amanda.
Next up is one of the wildestkids in our class, Big Mac akaScott Forde. I don’t think I’vebeen more scared in my lifethan when this guy chasedme across the school yard.O hey, there’s Andrea …
hey Nicole there’s Andrea.
Andrea is known for taking
time to think about things.
She is also know for being
good at sports.
Next we have Michael Farr and
Rikki-Lynn. You can always count
on Rikki for not missing an
episode of CSI or missing a
free-throw shot in basketball.
Mike, Mike, Mike he may
not hand in his homework
all the time but he is always
laughing at something.
You won’t catch these
two girls separated, they
stick together whatever the
case may be. They are Joelle
and Olivia.
Next is Stubbs, or as most of you
know him Scott Selvey. He is always
the one to give you good competi-
tion in any sport.
Nikki Steep was born with a talent
for singing and playing the piano.
She is destined to life on the stage.
Dalton and Ryan, these two are
always together and although Ryan
is a shy kind of guy, Dalton definite-
ly makes up for it.
Katelyn Govier is definitely prone
to drama but is always having fun
with her friends and Big Mac.
Jessica Ryan, Katelyn’s very close
friend, loves sports and is very
aggressive when it comes to hockey.
The next prime minister of Canada
is going to be Scott Campbell. He is
a very good goalie in hockey and is
interested in many sports.
This guy is going to be the next
Bobby Orr. He is very smart and
always cracks out a joke. This is
Jordan.
Brodie and Dan are very competi-
tive in gym class for every sport. You
put on a sweat just watching them
play.
Sky is a quiet girl but is really
mighty when it comes to track and
field.
Zach and Brandon you can see
together a lot. They are the crazy
two out of the bunch and enjoy bik-
ing to school even though they live
in Egmondville.
Next is the Baer, aka Jessica. She
loves to shop and always seems to be
fighting with her little brother.
Denver is the comedian of the
class. He may be small but he can
put up a good battle in basketball.
There’s always one girl in every
class that has to be that one giggly
girl. She always has the latest gossip
and stories … this is Hailey
Maxwell.
Sit up Eric. Eric may not like
standing up for O’ Canada in the
morning, but he always has that little
smirk on his face and you can
always catch him beating people in
basketball.
Briana, is the king of shotput and
can always be seen laughing.
Even if Alex isn’t the best at
something he always tries his hard-
est and he always makes French
class very interesting.
Although we don’t know much
about Melissa we had found out over
the past few weeks that she is a very
nice girl.
Next we have Mitchell. You can
always count on this guy for know-
ing the latest information on cars,
bikes and the Simpsons.
Amanda Nicholson loves to play
baseball and you’ll never catch her
missing a school dance for anything.
Kyle enjoys watching hockey and
competing in track and field.
Laura may be quiet but when she
gets out with her friends she always
has something to talk about.
I don’t remember a year where
Devin didn’t win ball throw. He is
always competitive whatever the
sport may be. He also knows every
yo momma joke in the book.
Next is Kelsey Glew. She is
always hanging out with Sky and
you can always see her laughing her
head off in the middle of the soccer
field.
Luke Harrison can be seen run-
ning vigorously with Luke
McCallum across the soccer field
hoping to not get killed by Big Mac.
Luke is also always joking around
with somebody.
