The Citizen, 2007-07-12, Page 14By Jordan VanCampFirst of all I’d
like to thank
everyone for
coming here on
this special
night. Everyone
here has helped
us grow and learn
from when we
were little kids to
the people you see
before you.
I’d also like to thank my class-
mates for voting me the class of
2007 valedictorian.
Our teachers, principals, bus driv-
ers, parents and secretary have all
been there for us and have taught us
much through our public school
years. The only word I could think
of to describe them would have to be
phenomenal. They have taught us so
much and on behalf of the graduat-
ing class I’d like to say thank you.
But enough about them it’s time to
talk about the graduates:
Kelsey Smith – she’s the one who
will laugh at anything … and then
never stop.
Brittany Haines – one of the nicest
people in the class who will help
anyone out.
Brittany Weber – the most socia-
ble person I know. She’ll have no
problem making friends in high
school.
Melissa Leishman – a horse lover
and a great artist.
Loretta Thompson – also a great
artist who also hits hard.
Matt Cottrill – probably the bet
curler in the class.
Andrew Lessard – the guy that
will lead an army to take over theworld … or at least the States.Matt Hallahan (aka Harley) – a
good athlete and an even better
friend.
Jim Vandewalle – one of the more
colourful personalities who likes
juice boxes.
Cody Stute – this is the guy whoyou want on your side in a bar fight.Tyler Stevenson – an all-around
amazing person and a great friend.
Josh Wesselink – the most knowl-
edgeable guy about transport trucks
I know.
Josh White – someone who knows
a lot more about sports than I do.And then there’s me Jordan VanCamp the good-looking one.
Now I’m sure like me, most of my
classmates don’t remember every-
thing from our public school years,
but what we’ll all remember is our
Ottawa trip. From eating hot sauce
to someone falling on the groundtrying to grind the sidewalk in therain. It was all fun and memorable.
But now we are somewhere
between youthful innocence, male
pattern baldness and viagra we step
out into a new world unknown with
optimism and more and more choic-
es to make to overcome the chal-
lenges awaiting us.
We’re all taking this step forward
in life. I’m glad I’m taking this step
with all my classmates, and friends.
As my speech comes to an end, I’d
like to give this last piece of advice
to my fellow graduates, your life is
what you make of it and it’s your
choice what you do.
Thank you.
