Auction sales
Thank you to all those who assisted with the set up
and clean up, including our North Huron work crew,
parents, youth and friends. Thank you to the
Threshers for the use of Shed #3. Special thanks to
the Brussels Legion who served the Fish Fry to our
318 guests, to John and Bev Elliott for the hot dogs
and Fred and Debbie Hakkers (Tasty Treats To Go)
for the salads. Thanks to the talents of Les and Jackie
Cook, the kids enjoyed the puppet shows, face
painting and balloons. Thanks to Sharon’s Cars in
Miniature for the popcorn and to Laura and Catherine
Peach for running the fish pond and jellybean count.
The auction was a tremendous success! Thank you
to the donators of the over 125 items, for making it a
fun evening with lots of bids and lots of happy buyers. Thanks to our auctioneer Tony
Chaffe for a job well done. This auction would not have been possible without the
“vision” and a lot of work by Chris and Gary Courtney and Fran and Dave Cook. Thanks
for your dedication, and for caring for the youth of our community. Thank you to our MC
Greg McClinchey, local dignitaries and the youth who officially cut the ribbon to open
the park. Thank you Micah, Zander, Philip and Darcy for the demonstrations of
skateboarding, biking and one-on-one basketball. AVERYSPECIALTHANK YOU to all
the faithful parents and youth who have given so freely of their time and energy over
the past three years to make this dream a reality. We ask all youth who will be using
the park and their parents to show their support and offer their help to the newly formed
Park Committee. It has been our privilege to work on this youth project, and now hand
the “reins” over to the new committee. Call Linda (519-523-9879) or Sue (519-523-
4991). Our wish is that this park will be enjoyed and well used by all ages for many
years to come - a park that Blythites can be proud of!
