Goderich proved to be a strong team and were giving Blyth a lot of trouble early in the game. Blyth got a couple of chances but Goderich scored the first goal when they out hussled the Lightning defence and got a clear shot on net. The play went back and forth through the first half but the Goderich goalie seemed unbeatable. Finally Blyth broke through with Megan Hoggart and Wyatt Carey teaming up to get the ball to Mackenzie Nesbitt who scored. Carey finally got an opportunity and made no mistake about firing the ball passed the Goderich goalie. Dalton Carey started things off in the second half. Trystan Weber's hard work paid off as he passed off to Ryan Nesbitt who moved the ball up to the net and shot into the Goderich goal. Melissa Van Schaik scored the final Lightning goal as she made no mistake on a penalty shot. The Lightning had some strong defence from Braydon Whitfield and Damion Greidanus that helped to keep Goderich away of the Blyth net. Tyler Boven stood firm in the Blyth net blocking all but one shot.
