Many family and friends from the
Seaforth, Mitchell and Walton area
dropped in to extend best wishes.
Kevin Wilbee travelled home from
Ottawa for the occasion and for
Easter.
Easter also heralds the arrival of
the snowbirds. Arriving back from a
winter in the south were Glenn and
Jean Bridge, Doris Muir and Jean
Wilbee, and Bob and Rene
Richmond.
Returning from a trip south also
were Harvey and Cindy Holland.
They were at the truck show in
Louisville, then travelled on to
Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Harvey
reports it was in the 80s with, of
course, no snow. They saw where
Dollywood is at Pigeon-Forge, but
it’s closed this time of year. They
drove around and saw the lights and
toured the terrible roads of the
Smokey Mountains.,
Harvey reports they blended into
the scenery and didn’t look like
typical tourists with cameras and
brochures in hand, so they were
approached by a group of
motorcyclists looking for directions.
They had an enjoyable chat with the
group when they learned Harvey
also was a “biker”.
Congratulations to Paul and Erin
Dolmage on the birth of daughter,
Sydney. Big brother Kyle is excited
as are grandparents Neil and Loretta
Dolmage and Len and Deb
Jamieson.

“shower” and fun time.
Home for Easter were Paul, Van,
Sean and Melanie Kirkby with
mother Jeanne. They are now into
their new home in Ottawa and have
taken their dog, Jesse, to his new

months. What a good grandma you
are Jeanne!

race team and Jenn, a young ladyselling t-shirts for Chris and JudyLee. Long distance for awhile untilJenn moved to the west and nowwedding bells. Fate, Kismet orwhatever, that brings peopletogether, congrats to them. This weekend is the buck and doe

prelude of music.
The time for the young at heart
had Gail present an Easter basket
with some unusual items. She
showed the children a sheep to
represent following, a bunny to
represent opportunities, a rooster for
calling out love for Jesus, a beautiful
painted Easter egg from the Ukraine
to signify new life and the beauty of
life, a curly pretzel representing the
shape of a heart and God’s love and
a butterfly-shaped box to represent
the changes from caterpillar to
cocoon to butterfly. Inside this was a
message Smile God Loves You all
the Time.
The ministry of music was an
anthem by the choir, Risen is He.
The scripture reader was LeeAnn
Konarski.
Gail’s reflection was entitled
Unseen Yet Spoken. It concerned the
journey of Christ through Holy
Week.
When Mary Magdalene found the
stone rolled away from the tomb and
the body of Jesus missing, she heard
the angels and believed God had
freed Jesus from the bonds of death.
The resurrection and the Easter
message moved from the ordinary to
the extraordinary and to a place of
faith for the disciples.
The offering was collected by
Ross Bennett and Jeff McGavin.
Next week’s service is joint with
Bluevale at 9:30 a.m.. Lunch will
follow. It is Gail’s last Sunday with
us and communion will be served.
The food bank is in need of
donations. Suggestions include
salmon, tuna, canned pasta, stews,
canned fruit.
There will be a bridal shower for
Kerrie McClure held April 22 at
Elmira Trinity United Church.
Money should be given to Marie
McGavin, Helen Craig, Dianne
McCallum or dropped into the
Walton Inn in an envelope with
name by April 14.
Grocery tapes need to come in as
soon as possible.
