HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2007-04-05, Page 26It was a sweep for Zone C1 of the Royal Canadian Legion as local students took top prizes in the public speaking contest held Saturday in Paisley. For the storytellers (Grades 1, 2, 3), Phaedra Scott of Blyth captured first, while Jacob McGavin of Brussels was the junior (Grades 4, 5, 6) winner. An Auburn youth, Matthew Durnin, representing the Lucknow Legion claimed first place in the Grade 7, 8, 9 or intermediate division. Ryley Neal of Goderich was the winner of the senior (Grade 10, 11, 12) division. The winners now advance and will compete April 22 in Creemore. If successful there they compete in Chatham and first weekend in May. PAGE 26. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, APRIL 5, 2007.
