Thanks to the generous donation
of Grey Twp. residents, the Grey
Firefighters Association will be
receiving an AED Plus
Debfibrillator.
The AED Plus will help assist the
firefighters at the scene of cardiac
arrest.
These units are programmed to
walk firefighters through the steps
needed to assist cardiac patients,
along with their CPR training, until
EMS arrives. They are compatible
to those used by Huron County
Ambulance services, allowing them
to plug their machines directly to
equipment being used when they
arrive on scene.
The AED units are also being
placed in area arenas and
community centres for emergency
use.
The AED Plus will be arriving
within the next two to three weeks
and after training, the department
hopes to have the unit in operation
by early spring.
