The permits resulted in $45,751 in fees, well above the $35,000 that had been budgeted. *** Councillors decided to defer a deci- sion on the relocation of the GregoryFisher Pringle drain in the Turnberryward pending clarification of discus-sion from the site meeting. Councillors felt one course of action had been decided on while the engineer, in a letter to council, seemed to think the discussion had gone in another direction. *** Councillors voted to send a letter to Huron-Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell to express disappointment that a freeze on new windpower developments dueto a lack of capacity on power trans-mission lines is going to hurt theassessment of municipalities wherewind farms were scheduled to be developed. “The province has dropped the ball on this,” said councillor Mark Beaven. *** Councillors learned they will get an additional $86,163 from the province’s Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.***The cost of the municipal electionwas $17,649, less than the budget of$18,000 and the 2003 election cost of $17,911. Clerk-treasurer Nancy Michie explained election staff hours had been reduced. Mayor Dorothy Kelly said there were problems with the mail-in bal- lots that must be corrected before the next election.
