and the school children under the dir;
ection of Miss Norma Brydges joined
to present their Christmas concert.
The singing of Christmas Carols
opened the programme. Claire Chain-
ney sang two solos and recitations
were given by a number of children.
The school children presented a play,
"The Party Line", and the • Young
People put on a play, "Wanted a
Housekeeper," Rev, Mr, Moores told
a Christmas Story after which Santa
Claus called to the delight of all the
children. Carol singing brought a PIP4§,
ant evening to a close.
Mr. David Scott is spending the
Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs.
Elliott Fells, Smooth Rock Falls,
iMr, and Mrs. Ted McClenaghan and
Percy, Whitechurch, visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Purdon.
Mr, and Mrs. L. Vannan and Mrs.
A. M. Perdue, have gone to Toronto,
to spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Perdue.
Mr. and' Mrs. C. H. Wade and Tom-
my and Mr. and Mrs. W, G. Cruick-
shanks, of Wingham, will be Christ-
mas guests of Mr. Wade's parents at
Fordwich.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cook have mov-
ed to their new home at Marnoch,

The Young People and the Choir of
Knox United Church, Belgrave, put on
a CHRISTMAS PAGEANT on Sun-
day night, December 21st, entitled,
"THE HOLY NATIVITY." The
Pageant was an interpretation of the
CHRISTMAS STORY in Music and
Song. After a brief worship period, led
by the minister, the "PROPHECY"
regarding the coming of the MES-
SIAH was read front Isaiah and Jere-
miah, and the scenes which depicted
the Birth of the Saviour at Bethlehem,
such as the Adoration of the Shep-
herds, the Visit of the Magi,(WISE
MEN) were pantomined by te Young
People. A curtain comprised of the
Children of the Sunday School, dress-
ed in white and impersonating Angels,
hid the Manger and Mary and Joseph,
separating at proper periods to let
these be seen, The CHOIR supplied
fitting music, composed mainly of the
"CAROLS", the SOLO part being tak-
en by Clifton Walsh, and a duet "Wat-
chman, tell its of the Night", was rend-
ered by Mrs. George .fichle and Mrs.
George Johnston.
Despite the stormy weather, a large
number of people attended the Christ-
mas Concert at S. S. No. 8, East Wa-
wanosh, last Wednesday afternoon. A
program of songs, carols, recitations, I
dances and dialogues was presented
by the pupils, under the direction of
their teacher, Miss Bradburn. Mr.
Harold Vincent acted as chairman. At
the those of the program Santa arrived
and distributed gifts and candy among
the children of the school section.
Trinity Anglican Church held
special Christmas services when Com-
munion service was observed. The
choir rendered special musk, choosing
"Thee, We Adore" as their anthem.
Misses Audrey, Ruth and Shirley Brad-
burn sang as a trio "0, Come All Ye
Faithful."
Special services were conducted at
the Presbyterian church when the mini-
ster Rev Milne delivered a special
Christmas message. Carols were sung
throughout The service,
R1103C United Church held a special
Christmas service with the minister,
Rev. Moores in charge, and Miss Wal-
sh at the organ, Ut., Clifton 'Walsh as
soloist, sang "The Holy City," Mr.
Moores chose as his Christmas medi-
tation "Quietness at Bethlehem."
Miss Myrtle YuiU of 'St. Catharines,
is home for Christmas, After Christmas
she and Miss Eliabetzh Cairns of Port
Elgin will spend a week holidaying in
Montreal and Quebec City.
Rorrnatr Stoneliouse of 'London,
spent the weet-efid 'with Ids parents,
Mr. arid Mrs, Robert Stoneliouse.
