The ansual meeting of St. Stephen's
Women's Auxiliary was held at the
home of the President, Mrs. H. V:
Holmes on Friday afternoon, Dec. 12,
with a good attendan'ce of members
and visitors. Meethig was opened with
singing of "0 Come; All Ye Faithful"
followed by the members prayer. Re-
ports were given which showed a good
year's work and a splendid financial
standing. Mrs. F. C. Taylor read the
scripture lesson. Rev. J. C. Caley gave
a Christmas talk, choosing as his sub-
ject, Emmanuel,)God with us, God with
me. Mrs. Holmes also gave the Presi--
dent's address in which she thanked the
members for their co-operaation during
the year and told of the work being
done for the Indian Residential School
at Cardston, Alberta, and for the Mo-
hawk Institute at Brantford.
Mr. Caley then took the chair for
election of officers. The executive of
last year were returned and are as fol-

were in Clinton on Friday attending
the annual meeting of the Crop Im-
provement Association.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Newman were in
Hamilton do Wednesday last, and vis-
ited with Mr. and Mrs, Arthur New-
man and other friends there. Mrs.
Cecil Falconer accompanied them and
visited with Mrs. Ernest Charleston in
Hamilton.
The regular monthly meeting of the
W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church
will be held on Thursday at the home
of the President, Mrs. J. W. Suther-
land.
Mr. Gilbert Beecroft and Mr. John
McGee were in London on Thursday
last. Mrs. Beecroft is making a splen-
did recovery and Mr. McGee visited
with his sister, Mrs. Simpson.
Mrs. Milian Moore accompanied
Mrs. Harold Sparling, Wingham, on
Friday last, when she was taken to Vic-
toria Hospital, London,
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cameron of
Lucknow, and...Mr'„) and Mrs. Ralph
Cameron, Marilyn and gandra Jean, of
Ashfield, visited on Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Robin-
son,
Mr. and Mrs, Ross Robinson of Del-
hi, attended the Walker-Cook wedding
in Belgrave United Church on Wed-
nesday last, and his father, Mr. Thos.
Robinson accompanied them home for
a two week's visit in Delhi.
Mr. Robert Ross of London, spent
the week-end with his parents, Mr, and
Mrs, R. J. Ross. Miss Catharine Ross
has been very poorly during the past
week.
Mrs. Brooks who has been ill at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Lester Fal-
coner to the past twenty months, was
taken to Wingham Hospital on Fiday
last, Mrs. Falconer is laid up with a
sprained back.
Mr. and Ors. Chas. Robinson anti
Mr. and Mrs. Aldin Purdon were in
Godcrich ott Monday.
M. and Mrs. Cameron Simmons and
baby Nancy, of London, spent the
week-end with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Chas, Martin, and Miss Louise
Martin of Kincardine, spent the week-
end there also.

Church on Monday evening, Deeember

Sing", Rev. Mr. Howse led in prayer,

mas story and another carol, "Silent

The regillar monthly meetiug. of the
Women's Institute was held on Tues-
day last in the Memorial Hall with a
fair attendance and with the President,
Mrs, lien McClenaghan in charge of
the meeting, After the opening-exer-
cises, the roll call was answered by
Your Favorite Christmas Carol, All
sang, joy to the World, and Mrs, Ezra
Scholtz played a piano solo, Mrs, Vic-
tor Emerson was in charge of a Christ-
mas Carol Contest, Mrs. Ben McClena-
glian gave a reading, What the Fam-
ily Finds on Christmas Morning, and
Mrs. J. Q, Gillespie gave a Christmas
reading. Mrs, Jas. Falconer 'told the
Christmas Story, and Mrs. Emerson
gave the financial statement, for the
paSt six months. Arrangements were
made for the dance for Friday evening,
December 19th, with Farrier's Orch-
estra poviding the music, The National
Anthem closed the meeting.
Mrs. Annie Carter of London, has
been visiting at the homes of her bro-
thers, Messrs. Robert and John Hut-
chison.
