alistricts served. The 1047 appointees for this purpose arc
'ester Falconer, Nelson Underwood and Cecil Wheeler, who
Lave added valuable administrative ability to the discussions.
There are between three and four thousand. families in the
.area served by the Hospital, an area radiating front Wing-
ham fur 12 to 15 miles. During 194G a good many families
_gave co-operation to the Hospital Board by taking member-
ship in the Association. The Board is asking (See adv. page 2)
a substantial increase in membership so that it may itnplement
its plans for a Nurses Residence and Training School. It de-
serves support to the extent of at least one member per family
in order that the Hospital plant and •equipment may not only he
kept up to date but be steadily further improved. Only by so
,doing can it Continue to hold its present prssition of leadership

The inspiration behind the planning of our beautiful stew
$200,000.00 hospital NM the offer of Mr. Witt, Galbraith, Ex-
ecutor of the Cornyn Currie Estate to donate, on behalf of the
estate, an ultra modern X-ray machine if the Hospital Board
would provide suitable housing for it. Mr. Galbraith is seen in
picture to the left with Mrs. Wrri. Connell, Mrs. J. W. McKib-
butt and Director H. C. MacLean examining the newly installed
machine. Berptests can prove to be a mighty facto in com-
munity welfare and citizens are urged to remember Wingharn
General Hospital when drawing their will.
Some very fine donations were made in cash rant equipment
during the past building fund campaigns. The Hospital Board
is always open to receive such assistance, and good use will be
made of all acceptable donations.
A very substantial amount of money to pay for the new Hos•
pital tame from those who purchased "Memorial" or 'Tor See-
vice plaques to commemorate a loved one or to perpetuate
family name, Because of the nature of these subscriptions they
were not publicized. Each plaque cost a $500.'00 subscription,
to the Building Fund and it is expected that 'the plagues will
be ready soon and a suitable ceremony will be held for their
dedication. Vitt arrangement of these plaques is such that they
may be added to from time to time and it is hoped that many
will accept the opportunity as the occasion arises, to usefully
and iii a most benefittiog manner provide a satisfactory mem-
orial or associate their family name hi perpetuity with the idea
of public service to ones fellow men.

It is to adequately house our splendid nursing staff and to
;provide accommodation for nurses iri training that we now need
a nurses residence, It is important too that such housing will
'release twelve beds badly needed for convalescents,
